Hello fellow airbnb hosts,
I have paired my august lock with my airbnb listing but i have no idea what it does to my guest's itinarary?
I've had august lock for over a year now and it has been paired with my airbnb for about 3 months now and havent notice any difference.
nobobdy of my guests mention it and when i ask them they have no clue what im talking about.
What is your experience? Am I missing something here?
Thank you!

Yes, it's easy to update right in the August app. Simply go to the guest list, select the guest, select "temporary," and then you can change the check-out time.
How do you register to get the carbon copy of this email every time it is sent to a guest? Thank you very much.
I'm not sure that's an option that you can set, @Jonathan279.
For what it's worth, I didn't get that email from my last few guests. And I don't think they got it either... Maybe the system is broken and I need to re-link my accounts? It's hard to fix when you don't have a steady influx of guests to test it on.
Hi Evertone.
I've been using August for a year now and had about 98 guests in to rooms in our home. Ever since I originally registered and connected Airbnb with August works with I get cc of the emails my guests get. Every one of them has received it. I have to prompt them and explain it to them but after that I have had 99% compliance. I now have an August
Hi Marty & Rob. Have you had any situations where it wouldn't link (to your Airbnb bookings) or the link dropped? The last 5 guests we've had, seems that they link dropped. Even though they're downloading the August app, creating an account, and linking to their Airbnb, it doesn't seem to be working. Curious if you or anybody else has had problems where it was working consistently, then stopped working?
Thanks, Jeff
Yes. The last few have been having trouble connecting. Sometimes if I send an invite through there text it forces the connection. Yesterday it did not work and I just sent an invitation to her friend she was with.
So if it is not connecting try the invite manually
Hi Ken,
Was there a setting you needed to activate in order to be cc'd in on that email to your guests?
Thanks,
Alex
August home sendo an email with access pin and app access...I remind people about it in my thanks for your reservation comment-later in the day August home will send you an email with instructions for app and keycode entry...etc
I don't have an option in my August app to choose "August works with". Does it only work in USA? I'm in Canada...
HI Denyse,
Depending on what you are trying to do.. THis is from an automated email AUGust sends my guests.
"Guests from outside United States: If you did not receive SMS verification code from August Home, please contact August Support at 1-844-AUGUST1 (284-8781)."
Marty
Its actually called August access in the drop down menu in the upper left corner of the screen below Home and August video recording before set up a new device.
I just found this link for pairing:
I was looking in the wrong place, but you would think airbnb would have this info on their site.

We have switched from August lock to the Lockstate 7i and want to unpair August from our Airbnb account. Our guests are now receiving 2 messages. 1 from August (which I do not want anymore) and one from Lockstate. How do I get rid of the August pairing?
If you're looking for a completely automated solution, I would recommend checking out the Rental Lock Automater (RLA) app from RBoy Apps. It requires you to have a SmartThings hub. You can use it with any Z-Wave or ZigBee lock your choice like a Yale, Schlage or Kwikset (I would however recommend a Yale or Schlage, personally use Yale for rentals and Schlage at home).
It does everything for you, connects to your property calendar, schedules your users with a start and end date and even texts them a customize message with a code. It also allows us to manually add users if we need for friends/family. Lots of neat little things you can do with it like custom actions and notifications that we use to control other smart devices in the house like security, switches, hvac etc. It's been great for us.
Basically it's hands off and there's no monthly fee. We bought the lifetime access for $99 which gives us unlimited updates and support. Quite a steal IMHO.
You can check them out at http://smartthings.rboyapps.com
So I just installed my first august smart lock, connect "Bridge" and keypad at my apartment which is also an airbnb. After connecting it to airbnb, I cannot find any interface or control of the lock. Something similar to what I get on a Lock state lock.
---> Lockstate Website interface:
---> View/edit automated guest email instructions
---> 10 existing future reservations, none of them appear in my guest list on the app.
Any advice?
