Impossible to Achieve Certain Airbnb Opportunities Due to Location

Hello Fellow Airbnber's,

I'm wondering if anyone else, likely in the UK or countries/areas with a similar climate, is struggling to achieve the Popular amenities and Remote workspaces opportunities and feels it may be affecting their listing?

In order to, I would need to install air conditioning. Cost aside, it simply isn't needed in my property which is of stone construction and stays wonderfully cool during our (warmish) British summers.

I appreciate Airbnb is a global company and it is difficult to cater to all locations, cultural differences etc. but surely the boxes I cannot and will never tick could be removed. How do I feed this back to Airbnb and get them to take notice?!

@Sarah327

Maybe try:

Airbnb Feedback

And if enough other hosts agree with you here, hopefully it is picked up by the admin(s) !

Best regards,

Emiel

I have submitted feedback to Airbnb about this. Fingers crossed someone takes notice!

Some countries simply do not require/need air conditioning due to their climate - the UK being one of them. I am certain Airbnb's algorithms negatively affect all listings that are unable to check all boxes for Property Amenity and Remote Workspaces due to the air conditioning requirement.

@Sarah327 Why do you feel this is affecting your listing? There are many places in the world that don't have/use a/c or heating.

@Emilia42  I think it’s more that Airbnb is telling us that it is.

I’ve only ever seen one house in the UK with air-con, but we get told constantly that we should be adding it. The algorithm is incorrect, and therefore any placing it makes based on that info is also wrong.

It’s frustrating and demoralising to be told you should be doing something better without any realistic hope of being able to make the improvement.

I can’t imagine how many extra times I’d need book my £21/night room to justify installing Aircon 😒

@Matt682 The position in search listings is driven solely by comparisons made between listings. As a result lack of air-conditioning in the UK will have near zero effect if none of the other listings have air con.

@Sarah327 I would worry about something else as this is a non-issue. I do agree it could be annoying but only if you let it annoy you.
