Microwave

Microwave

We are preparing a flat for Airbnb. The kitchen has very little space. We have an oven, small washing machine and dishwasher. We are struggling to work out where we can fit a microwave. Is a microwave considered to be essential in an Airbnb?

Hello @Hubert--J0, thank you for sharing this. I hadn’t heard about a 5-in-1 microwave with an air fryer before—very interesting!

Do you offer one of these in your property?

Hi @Paula
Always welcome

@Lisa8107 if you move the toaster next to the kettle there's oodles of space for a small microwave where the toaster was!

@Lisa8107 and if it's a replacement microwave its tax deductible!

Good morning Lisa we do have a microwave in our property, our house is a spacious bungalow so we have plenty of room for all the kitchen appliances.

Hello @Eileen561, amazing, thanks for sharing your experience. Have you offered a microwave since the beginning, or is it something you added recently?

We've always had a microwave in the kitchenette of our cottage as we don't have space to allow for proper cooking. Some guests have no use for the oven yet others do use it. I wouldn't say it's essential like a kettle or fridge but it adds to your offering. Hope this helps...

Hello @Donald472, great perspective. Also, everything depends on the kind of guests who usually book your place. Do you host long-term guests?

Thanks for your response @Paula . Our cottage is quite small so we don't actively encourage long-term guests but we have been known to host visiting paragliders to our area for up to six weeks at a time. When receiving such a booking, I always let them know the space is very limited but the response has always been that they "don't intend on spending much time in the cottage - only as a safe place for sleeping..."

I didn’t have on in the kitchen for the first year I hosted, but I had a longer term guest request it so I bought a small one for the space. It does take up a fair amount of counter space, but if you have a stove/oven I wouldn’t say it’s essential

Hello  @Daniela3397, thank you for sharing this. Do you host long-term stays frequently?

I offer a microwave.  We think it makes things easier for our guests when they don't feel like cooking. Good luck with your flat!!

Hello @Fabiola407, thanks for sharing this. Certainly, a microwave can make things easier sometimes. Do you know if your guests use it frequently?
