Pay Attention to Every Single Detail while Cleaning

Hello Everyone!

I am Mohammad from Toronto, Canada. We are hosting almost 2-years now, have multiple properties. One thing we noticed that we someone do not pay attention to the small small details of dirt, hair, spot and so on while doing our organization, cleaning and setting up the property for our guests. Trust me, if cleanliness is not in your blood and you do not like be cleaned for yourself then you won't realize that importance of this and your guest will not feel the difference! We always try our best to present our property to our guests the same way we would have wanted ove to have it to experience it. Happy hosting.

Hi @Mohammad268 😊

Thank you very much for sharing this cleaning tip with the other hosts!

Would you like to share more about your approach to this topic? 👉 How do you handle the cleaning and management of bed linens and sheets?

I’m sure it will be helpful for other hosts as well!

Warm regards 🌻,

@Mohammad268  You are right!  Cleanliness in a short term rental is probably the most important service you can offer.  We hear all the time the horror stories of guests arriving to a filthy accommodation.

Do you do your own cleaning for all your rentals or hire it out and do checks after each cleaning?

I am out of state and use cleaning services and am so far blessed with really good ones as we always get compliments on our cleanliness.  However, I owned a cleaning service for 17 years and I can always find something, even on the best cleaners. 😜

Agree cleanliness is paramount. I can do all the gardening and sorting out of toyroom, or ensure the tv remotes all work etc, but if there is something not cleaned, the guests penalise harshly. Sigh.

The one thing that always catches me out is the pots and pans, or the plates. Previous guests dont clean properly for whatever reason, and we don't empty all the drawers to check them all (there's like 24 plates/24 bowls, 15 pots/pans ) because this is a 12 guest 6 bedroom home. It would take an hour just to check them all, pulling them all out and checking.

I know some guests will just let it go and accept that's part of the holiday house, but others will get very picky on it and rate me down. Never mind that this is easily fixable.

Just part of hosting life!
