Please make "fragrance-free" a filter

Please make "fragrance-free" a filter

There is now a HUGE number of people who are fragrance-sensitive or have MCS. I'm one of them.

The odours of conventional cleaning products, air fresheners, dryer sheets, etc. make me sick. They give me headaches, burning eyes, feelings of tightness and tingling, respiratory irritation, heart palpitations, nausea, dry mouth and many other symptoms. I've had more than one vacation ruined by fragranced bedrooms that were making me ill. Surveys indicate that about one-third of the population in the US and other countries is fragrance-sensitive or has MCS or prefers fragrance-free spaces.

Please AirBnB stop ignoring this incredibly large group of people. You currently have filters for 13 different accessibility features. Could you PLEASE add another one, "fragrance-free"? Fragrance-free properties actually exist, it's just that you can't easily find them, at least not on the airbnb site itself. (Google search can be used as a workaround, but it's far from perfect.) Thanks!

Dear community, is there any update on this? I had a very bad experience with extreme fragrance use. Communication did not work, because the host didn't understand at all, what allergy to fragrance means. How can I find and accomodation? Did you ever try the allergy filter of booking com? This would be my next attempt, additionally to an additional phone call. BR from Germany.

THANK you.  Just had a stay ruined by cloying chemical scents (towels, linens, hallway "freshener"...).  Even with windows open wide and fan in window blowing in, still a problem.  Three days home and my stuff's still on the porch (to air out), and still reeks.
I will copy this and attach to my note/review to them.  I'm not even 'chemically sensitive' per se but I've been living fragrance free/clean for soooo long, I guess I am now a canary...

Dear Airbnb,

I would be more likely to use the Airbnb platform for bookings if this filter were available. At the moment, I use the “allergy-friendly” filter on Booking com and then follow up by email to ask which detergent the hotel uses.

I would prefer to book my stays through Airbnb if this option were offered.

I have not read the entire thread, so I'm not sure what ideas are out there, but I hope Airbnb will consider some options...

a filter that allows hosts to at least be designated as:

using fragrance free detergents

using fragrance free cleaning supplies

& no air fresheners or air sprays

this is pretty standard in hotels, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

I understand that hosts cannot guarantee no fragrances because they would need to control guests too much in that case...

it would be a game-changer just to have fragrance free detergent and no glad plugins!!!!
