@Morgan689 Hi Morgan, Im in California too the sue happy capital of the USA. I am planning on installing a pool and jacuzzi at my AIRBNB eventually so I need to learn this stuff too. Would you have them sign the release as they check in?? And, how does the release protect you? I know from liability if something happens. Do you have to carry extra insurance on your home? Thanks for your reply, Eileen
Hi Eileen, I don’t know about extra insurance. My Airbnb is not in CA. I’m planning to have all individuals using the spa, sign the release prior to arrival. I’m hoping a host will respond and have a release form I can possibly use.
@Morgan689 You need to talk to your insurance company or a lawyer. A release form from another host may not contain the language relevant to your location. If you do not want to obtain professional advice or pay for it, you could talk to a local real estate firm that has rentals with spas and ask for their forms "to review before renting". Shady --
You cannot contract out of a negligence claim. Someone gets injured or cystitis (renowned in hot tubs) you are liable. Doubt your insurance company will cover you.
