#PlasticFreeJuly : As a Host, When I think about reducing plastic waste in our listing, I want to be very careful and consider what we have in our listing that can be replaced while being fiscally responsible.
The last thing I want to do is throw out all of our present plastic items and replace them with new plastic-free items. That won’t help anything. But what I can do is consider using items that are not plastic when it is time to replace items anyways.
Things I think about to reduce plastic waste in listing:
2. Always thinking about new and eco-friendly ways to refill our soap containers, or our cleaning supplies and repurpose our already existing items.
What are some of the great ideas you have to reduce the plastic in your listing?

@Sarah5000 Thank You Sarah. They like them and many buy their own as Souvenirs at the Masaai Curio Markets near our Listings.
A more long lasting and sustainable way of living 🙂

Wow Jue, great to hear that Kenya banned plastic bags!
@Deirdre122 Indeed ! Six years on. Great steps and strides achieved despite the challenges. Thank you.💐
Love this 🫶🏽💕
In the kitchenette in all my yurts, I don’t have any plastic items. I have real crockery, cups, glasses, and real knives and forks, most of which are old vintage cutlery.
I have some bamboo bowls and plates too, as these have become more readily available.
I have wood or bamboo chopping boards.
I try to prevent anyone arriving with plastic plates, glasses or cutlery, by having close up photos of the plates, glasses, mugs, and cutlery trays, in each of my listings.
Great article. Thanks for sharing!! ❤️
Thank you for this Jennifer, some great tips on items I wouldn't have thought of alternatives for. I don't have a homes listing, but I try and be conscious in my own home of the choices I'm making with purchases.
