Hi everyone, happy Tuesday! 😁
Before starting to rent out spaces, whether it's a room or an entire apartment, Hosts often wonder what things should be left for guests. For example, should good dinnerware be left or replaced? Should decorative glassware be removed or kept? What should be done with drawers full of items that are irrelevant to guests?
Have you decided to leave your decorative items in your accommodation? Do you remove any valuable items before your guests arrive? Or do you prefer to share these things with them? 🌟
Share your experience in the comments and let us know what you consider important to add or remove from your accommodation before renting it out.
Best regards 👋
@Paula A few thoughts on what to remove/protect:
1) Anything with sentimental value
2) Mattreses should be fitted with waterproof covers and ideally bed bug proof covers
3) Personal items should be locked away (ideally removed)
4) Clutter should go as it is impossible to clean around it and/or it takes a long time
5) Serious consideration should be give to removing 'sets' of crockery where single items cannot be easily replaced.
Thank you for your suggestions @Mike-And-Jane0 😊
Items with sentimental value should most definitely be put away or removed to prevent damage. With crockery would you say cheaper set are better as they're easy to replace? Or would you suggest crockery with high quality to ensure longevity? 🤔
All personal effects should be removed,
neutral decor and as uncluttered as possible
High quality pillows, duvet, mattress and covers. All cotton bedding.
Decent bedding and a comfortable mattress goes a long way
