Hello everyone,
Once a guest checks out, the key moment begins: managing their departure and organizing the arrival of the next guests.
Some hosts mention that the first thing they do is enter the property for a quick inspection: check that everything is in order, look for any possible damage, and confirm that nothing has been left behind. After that, they coordinate the cleaning and prepare the space to welcome the next guest.
What about you? What’s the first thing you do when a guest leaves? 🧹✨
I believe those first few minutes after checkout are essential for maintaining quality and catching any details in time. Wouldn’t you say so? 😊
See you in the comments,
hello
Hello @Yashwant6, it’s great to see you want to join this conversation. Were you planning to share something else with the host community?

Eu verifico se há coisas danificadas ou objetos esquecidos. Depois disso, eu aciono a equipe de limpeza.

I check for any damaged items or forgotten objects. After that, I call the cleaning crew.

@Eduardo2524 Thank you for sharing this. Do you provide a checklist to the cleaning crew to ensure no details are missed?
Please keep us posted.
Não. Excelente ideia. Obrigado!

No. Excellent idea. Thank you!
1. Walk through to see what's what (and grab collected trash when I return downstairs to my house).
2. Shoot a message to the guests who left to say "Thank you, hope you had a great stay, and safe travels."
3. Start cleaning
4. In the evening, I'll message the upcoming party with any relevant details and write another message to departees.
To me, Airbnb is about connection. Even if my guests preferred staying to themselves and bugging out without an in-person goodbye, I still make the effort to connect, to let them know even their presence mattered (my airbnb is attached to my home so I am on premises). Some Airbnbs are separate so the wrap up checklist will vary.
I'm always interested to see what other hosts are doing so thanks for this forum!

Hello @Diane1760, thank you for sharing this. Do you have any automatic messages set up to send after guests check out, or do you write them each time?
Regards,
Hi @Paula!
I prefer to write a personal message each time because each party has its own flavor per exchanges from before and during their stay. Maybe it doesn't matter to some guests, and some hosts may not have that kind of time to spare. But I do and so it's become part of the Airbnb experience I want to offer.
The world needs kindness and connection, and I think I can respect the privacy and pace of my guests and still give them a touch of a community/home feel. I hope I do!
Thanks for asking.

the first thing we do when a guest checks out is check our house for any issues and check the review they gave us, clean our house and leave everything ready for the next guests
Thank you for sharing this @Edona12. Other hosts have mentioned that they use checklists so they don’t forget anything when cleaning. Do you also use this strategy? Are you hosting a room or an entire property?
