Welcome to the 2025 Summer Release Q&A. I’m excited to share more about Airbnb Services, Airbnb Experiences, and the all-new hosting tools announced today.
Airbnb Services are incredible services to make any stay more special. Guests can now upgrade their stay with services like a private chef or personal trainer—right at their Airbnb.* We’re launching in 260 cities with 10 categories: chefs, photography, massage, spa treatments, personal training, hair, makeup, nails, prepared meals, and catering. Services are vetted for quality, taking into account criteria like the service host’s knowledge, education, and reputation.
We’re introducing completely reimagined Airbnb Experiences—hosted by locals who know their city best. Guests have new ways to find and book experiences, giving them even more reasons to visit your city. Activities include unique tours, tastings, outdoor activities, workshops, and more. Experiences are vetted for quality, with a focus on hosts’ knowledge, reputation, and authenticity.
We’ve rebuilt the app for hosts to include everything you need to manage your home, service, or experience. All-new tools make it even easier to manage reservations, stay on top of scheduling, and grow your business.

Gasten kunnen hun verblijf voortaan upgraden met services als een privékok of personal trainer, gewoon in hun Airbnb.* We starten in 260 steden met tien categorieën: kok, fotografie, massage, wellnessbehandeling, personal training, haar, visagie, nagelverzorging, maaltijden en catering. Services worden gecontroleerd op kwaliteit, waarbij wordt gekeken naar onder meer de kennis, opleiding en reputatie van de servicehost.
We introduceren de volledig vernieuwde Airbnb Experiences, activiteiten georganiseerd door locals die de stad kennen als hun broekzak. Gasten kunnen activiteiten op meer manieren vinden en boeken, waardoor ze nog meer redenen hebben om jouw regio te bezoeken. Activiteiten kunnen unieke rondleidingen, proeverijen, buitenactiviteiten, workshops en nog veel meer zijn. Activiteiten zijn gecontroleerd op kwaliteit, waarbij gekeken wordt naar de kennis, reputatie en authenticiteit van de host.

Agree 💯% @Joan2709 with you! Trying to get any claim via Air Cover is a hit and miss affair as it is but with third parties involved, I can already imagine how impossible it will be to receive compensation from Airbnb for any damages, extra cleaning etc.
I'm fine for any services, experiences outside of my apartment but certainly not inside! What about the neighbours?
There is already a very big anti Airbnb feeling in a lot of countries with new restrictions being put into place to restrict their number and having extra unauthorised people coming in and out of apartment buildings is just putting oil on the fire!
In Spain, under pressure from neighborhood associations, the government has taken action: since April, property owners can prohibit a tourist rental from operating if at least three-quarters of them vote in favor of the ban during the general assembly.
I can completely understand this decision, as in many buildings, residents are fed up with the constant comings and goings of tourists, day and night, along with all the nuisances that come with it—noise, damage to common areas from rolling suitcases, and so on.
With the arrival of new “services” and the additional traffic they will generate, the anti-tourist sentiment already felt by many Spaniards is likely to intensify even further. As a result, it's very likely that many tourist rentals will be forced to shut down.
@Adriano78 It's the same here too in France Adriano and for now, our recent annual GA meeting didn't receive enough votes to ban putting our apartments on booking platforms but was very worried they would😓 So we're OK for a year at least but like you, I fear these new "services" are going to act like the last straw for many neighbours who live year round in the apartment block and who are already fed up with the noise and the damage that so many suitcases cause to the communal areas that are paid by ALL the residents.
At the anual GA, in our building it was voted that any owner of a property used for tourism must pay a 20% surcharge on condominium fees to offset the damage caused by tourists in the common areas.
Wow- 20% extra in communal charges for Airbnb hosts in condominium😩 I can see that arriving in France too as there is a lot of Airbnb bashing going on already.
You're absolutely right. Hosts already have enough issues to deal with when it comes to Airbnb support — whether it's a guest causing damage or leaving a false review — without Airbnb making things even more complicated by adding these new "services."
Airbnb urgently needs to give hosts a clear option, like a checkbox in the House Rules section, to state that no outside services are allowed in their property.
I find Airbnb’s lack of professionalism truly baffling. They’re rolling out these services without even asking the most basic questions about liability in case of damage or the different laws and regulations that apply in each country.
exactly. in Florida, insurance will be canceled. we aren't even allowed to have a business in our home.
also, where is my payment for services and events? the extra utilities, the extra, extra deep cleaning involved when there are more then the listed guests.
also, not even informing the hosts that a service is being held at their property.
I agree with all of the concerns raised here. Airbnb can market services, but when our guests book these services they should take place at an appropriate location, not inside the listing.
Here is the rationale given by Airbnb:
People often choose hotels because of the services they offer, like room service, access to a gym, or an appointment at the spa. Starting today, guests can get services right at your Airbnb.
.... but ... hotels do not have chefs cook meals inside a hotel room; hotels do not hold gym sessions inside a hotel room; hotels do not temporarily convert a hotel room into a spa.
Services take place in appropriate spaces that are suitable for the activity, at appropriate times.
I don't understand Airbnb's rationale for requiring Homes listings to host these services. If we could specifically opt in to host services, that would make more sense.
So I’m really impressed with the new Airbnb Experiences and Services offering. They've opened up a whole new way for hosts to connect with guests beyond just providing a place to stay. The expanded Experiences platform allows us to showcase our local knowledge, passions, and creativity, whether through food, culture, nature, or hands-on activities. It’s a great way to offer guests something unique and memorable while creating new income streams.
The added Services also bring real value. All of this adds up to a better guest experience, stronger reviews, and ultimately, greater success for us as hosts.
As for the upgrades for Hosts, the redesigned interface feels smoother and more intuitive, making it easier to manage my listings and communicate with guests. I love the Today Tab and the enhanced calendar features and the Host reminders. I really like the profile "credit card" very cool. Overall, the updates feel like they were designed with hosts in mind, and they’ve made the hosting experience even more seamless and rewarding. (and more enjoyable to some degree). Its a 5 stars from me.
It's great to see that Airbnb is expanding their business. I've been helped tremendously over the past 5 years by the platform and the community that they've built. I do however feel the need to mention that the quality of the user experience is consistently diminished with each release. Prior to the 2025 Summer Release, I've had to wait up to 10 seconds for property filters and calendars to load in my web browser. The iPhone app apparently doesn't suffer from these issues. Also, the popups are really annoying to have to dismiss over and over.

Like many other places I have a legal short term rental that is strictly regulated.
As a host my listing is budget friendly one bedroom place for no more than two guest and one car.
Guest already love it, 5 star rating with 460 reviews, but I have to rent it full time just to make it work.
Having personal trainer, chef, or masseuse, would be an increased liability and not covered by our insurance, and simply will not work out.
I think it would be essential to include an option for host to choose what services can be offered.
I just don't think I'll keep offering a budget friendly one bedroom accommodation. Airbnb keeps forcing extra people, even kids, when the space is just too small. Its ideal for two people and one car, but as its really nice it can be very stressful when guest want to invite more people and make is something its not. ||
* The experiences also. My listing is on a body of water, the ocean, on a tidal creek, and my insurance company already wanted me to include a life ring and no diving sign. But I assured them that on one would use the marsh area as its a mud flat. But now guest can book a fishing charter and launch from the backyard. This is similar to a personal trainer, that is an activity that would require guest to sign a waver. And host wouldn't even know what experiences or services guest are booking in their guest apartment. Hopefully this is something Airbnb will consider that host can't have all these experiences and services forced on them for a one bedroom guest apartment.
