Earlier this year, Airbnb announced that it was expanding its rewards program for Superhosts. Several new benefits were introduced, including an extra 20% cash bonus for referring new hosts. (Hosts can make up to $600 in referrals, depending on their location.) That’s in addition to the benefits Superhosts have long enjoyed, like priority placement in search results and the Superhost profile badge.
Since then, the Airbnb team has done more research to improve the Superhost experience even more. That’s why they’ve decided to adjust certain rewards to focus on the most impactful benefits. The goal is to expand the rewards program in the next year or so. Stay tuned for announcements on this— hopefully by early 2019.

How are Super Hosts given priority placement in search results? This has not been my experience - Our listings appear to be lumped in with all the rest, making us dependent on the Super Host filter being used (which, per my guests, is rarely done, given they have no idea what a Super Host even is most of the time when I ask them how they found us). In what way are our listings given priority placement?
I am really grateful to Airbnb because it has made a big impact on our lives.
We meet people from all over the world and in general it is really inspiring.
Benefits have been both financial and social. It's hard work but it is so worth it!
The $100.00 reward is a marvelous gift, that I am really looking forward to using in Australia this year.
It is really nice to have a perk. It was an unexpected treat.
Free photography was also much appreciated. The photographers are busy folks, so it took a couple of times to get the appointment worked out, but the photos made a huge difference and both photographers really took their time making everything look extra special.
I am also grateful for all of the help I have had from Airbnb Support as a Super Host. No complaints there at all. I have learned alot and thoroughly enjoy the whole experience.

I think there are two underlapping postings - how the Superhost status will change and what rewards will a Superhost get.
Thanks for the 100$ gift - I am going to use it probably in February. I think that for Airbnb would be more profitable if Superguests can exchange visits in time when guests are not so much. Instead of giving 100$ voucher you can open a special web-site where Superhosts can ask others like them if they can visit them on given free calendar days provided that host would be glad to visit your home for the same amount or better for the same period of time - say - 3 to 5 days. I.e. there are some Superhosts here - on the forum - who have often helped me, I would be glad to know them in person - and I will be happy to visit on exchange principle some neighboring countries.

I'd like to see better SEO for Superhosts, and very clear milestones or incentive goals that leaed directly to higher search rankings. I understand the need to push new properties and attract new hosts, but Superhosts are your consistent earners with the (presumably) lowest problems per stay ratio.
Echoing what others have said, having the ability to apply to have even one review a year deleted would be nice. Not every guest is reasonable. I had one guest give me 3 stars in a category because I didn't serve coffee in the mornings (no coffee was promised and a coffee maker was provided, and they woke up late every day)
A points system is fine, and cash rewards are nice, but really, all any of us really want are:
- better search rankings
- easier cancellations
- the ability to appeal thoughtless reviews
I like Airbnb. You guys have a solid software platform (iOS app needs work), good customer service, and a large customer base. Homeaway (especially with their third-party affiliations such as Expedia) and Booking.com are competitive, and reward hosts who are loyal to their platform with enhanced search rankings. If I'm not getting booked with Airbnb, even at steep discounts, I lean on other sites to fill the gap. It seems like, as a Superhost in a very in-demand city, I shouldn't need to do that.
I would greatly prefer doing 100% of my accommodation business through Airbnb. Work with your superhosts to make that happen.

I don't care about referral bonuses, travel coupons, nest discounts, or discounts on experiences. None of that has anything to do with my rental business. Enough with the gimmicks. I would rather have one more booking for a week than any of that.
I feel like the management at Airbnb has a constant struggle to realize that this is a business and not a hobby. The idea that someone suggested a bigger referral bonus and then others agreed it was a good idea and travel coupon, just blows my mind. In what world does any of that have to do with my ability to provide a positive experience to my tenants?
For those of us who are listed in multiple platforms, my Superhost status comes and goes. Airbnb does great during my offseason (summer months), but not during the season(November-April). I can see that I will be losing my Superhost status come Jan 1, 2019 since I only have 6 bookings out of 10 required on the platform and most of the year (and next spring) is already booked through another platform. Nevermind that I maintain an 80% 5-star review on Airbnb.
Listing my vacation rentals are NOT a hobby and is a business. I simply can NOT rely on only one platform since none of them provide enough bookings.
I wish that Superhost was reflective of those of us who have the experience and positive reviews. I have been remotely(1200 miles) managing this myself for 20 years. I don't like being punished for not receiving enough bookings on this platform. Perhaps there is a better way to evaluate, using the calendar? Or cross-linking internally to incorporate an internal scoring system using reviews from other platforms? Or perhaps consider splitting the Superhost label to Dailyhost and Weeklyhost to differentiate between those who manage like a hotel vs a vacation spot.
As a Super Host, I would like to receive rewards like coupons for HomeDepot, Lowe’s, Macy’s or may be even reduce the service fee that you charge us from 3% to 1.5%.
In the past couple yrs, I consistently spent a lot of money to maintain or improve my place. I also tried to replace old pillows and blankets with new ones once every 6 months. It is getting harder for me to keep up my quality since Airbnb always expects us to offer “reasonable” prices to our guests while there are no financial assistances to hosts.
I just read Alan in Ottowah's comments about the offer for professional photography. I agree...what a joke! In order to attain Superhost status, I had to pay for my own professional photography for both my apartments which wasn't cheap! If I hadn't there is no way I'd have had the bookings I have had...which is what I had to do to attain Superhost status in the first place! Lots of bookings lead to lots of reviews which leads to Superhost status if you do a good job. But I had to have the great photos to start the process. I think this offer is just something to "sound good" to entice new people to list with Airbnb...not so much a bonus for those of us who have already qualified. Nice try Airbnb!
I also think Superhosts should have the ability to ditch more than one "irregular" review in a calendar year. Most of my guests have been awesome, but I've encountered a couple that even if I'd given them the sun AND the moon they'd still have given me only 4 stars. Its not fair to good hosts to be punished if you happen to host 2 or 3 of those types who will complain no matter what. I've been lucky and only had one who gave me a completely unfair review, but I've had a couple others that I was holding my breath on.

I chose 100$ voucher for travelling for superhost.But for mongolian people so difficult to get visa for travelling.I am not sure to use this voucher.
Several hosts have said they're not interested in the free photo session, but I was really pleased when this was announced earlier in the year and was saving my Superhost reward until this became live. The photos are probably the most important aspect of the listing when attracting guests and professional ones can really make a difference.
I was so disappointed to then find out that none of my listings are eligable. There is no explanation given and I know it's not because of a lack of photographers available in London. I suspect it's because I had the professional photography when I first listed and when it was still free for non-Superhosts.
Personally I don't think this is fair. Why should it matter? I have earnt it by staying Superhost for a year!
Since the original photo session, I've made quite a few improvements to my property, including having two brand new bathrooms added, and I would really like new photos that reflect what my listings look like now. I have tried to take new photos myself, but they just look rubbish next to the others on my listings!
Is there anyway this rule could be changed? There was no mention of the photo session reward being available only to SOME superhosts and not others, just that it was subject to availability.
Some months ago I received a $100 reward for being a Superhost. How do I collect my reward? It's my first.
I've been a Superhost for some time now. Over the course of this time, i've improved my space and thus my listing. However, since I had professional pictures taken at the very beginning, I am "ineligible" to get photo's again. Superhosts should be able to have access to the "perk" of an AirBNB sponsored professional photographer 1x per year. As Superhosts, by definition, we are always trying to please our guests and provide an outstanding experience; it only makes sense that our spaces evolve and thus the need for new, professional photo's when we update out listing.
Thank you for my Superhost bonus voucher, which I've just cashed in for a leap into the unknown - to visit Laos for the first time, on my own. Knowing I'll be part of the Airbnb community while I'm there helped give e the courage to do this 🙂
