Hey everyone,
I’m hoping someone here has dealt with something similar or can offer advice, because I’m honestly shocked and frustrated by what just happened.
Recently, I received a 1 star from a guest. I provided all the evidence to Airbnb showing the review was false and made in retaliation, and Airbnb agreed — they removed the review.
You’d think that would’ve cleared things up… but instead, right after removing it, Airbnb notified me that my listing would be suspended for 30 days due to the “incident.”
I was upset but figured I’d wait it out.
But then — not even five minutes later — I received a second message from Airbnb saying that after “further review,” my entire account has been permanently suspended. No clear explanation, no policy cited, and no option to appeal beyond some generic form.
So now I’m stuck with:
A proven retaliatory review that they agreed was invalid,
A 30-day suspension based on something that was removed,
Followed immediately by a permanent ban,
And zero transparency from Airbnb about what triggered it.
help?! they also said i did not submit a appeal. what??? it was 3 minutes and i asked a sinple
auestion.
the support team is absolutely awful. how is this even possible to be suspended?
i had a 3 star review. back in june or may but, this one star review was removed. i just don’t get it
This is a weird story....what happened making the guest write the bad review ?
Although your listings are suspended, at the moment your profile shows still active.
The message does not say the account "permanently suspended", but "fully suspended".
So first start the appealling, as the message stated.
the is is gonna sound crazy but this guy wrote a retaliatory bad review AFTER HE GOT ARRESTED AT MY HOUSE FOR A WARRANT, they found drugs. i don’t even know how he was even allowed to make the review because, airbnb cancelled the reservation on my behalf due to him being arrested
That is wild!! If I were you I'd get in touch with them by phone - they do have a customer service line here in Au, hopefully same for the US. Perhaps making your case to someone will get it escalated, get a case number and contact person, and just keep following up (calmly and professionally of course) until you get a resolution. What a terrible situation!
plus i can’t do the appeal because even i click on the link it says unavailable
