1099's

I've noticed the 1099's are inaccurate when a host is involved.  For example,

My CPA says there are two 1099's incorrect and needs to be corrected asap.

1099 for Airbnb Account XXXXXXX- Joe Black $91,395.10 (inaccurate).
      This is gross rental sales on two houses. Joe was paid by Airbnb $43,911.23 . The gross rents on house 2392 W Dusty
      Wren,$33,395.10 and 20% co-host fee on Florida house $11,600  Total $44,995.10 (Correct amount)
1099 for Airbnb Account 193349055- Daniel Brown (owner of Florida  house) needs 1099 for $46,400.00

 

How to get this corrected

Unfortunately, Airbnb is absolutely useless when it comes to correcting 1099s. If you do a quick search on these forums, you'll see that.

I have been waiting for a corrected 1099 form all month long. They are only sending me copy/paste responses that don't even apply to my situation via email and refuse to connect me on the phone to anyone who can actually help me.

I will be contacting the IRS about it on March 1.

Airbnb is a terrible company that should be ashamed of how they treat hosts. They have absolutely no concept of customer service. All of their accountants should be fired.
