Hi,
I want to host my property in India on Airbnb but I’m an NRI. How does the address verification work? Appreciate any help. Thank you.

Hi @Pratik45 👋
Yes, you can absolutely host in India as an NRI many hosts do.
For address verification, Airbnb only needs to confirm the location of the property, not your personal residency. Here’s how it typically works:
1. Airbnb may ask for an address document linked to the property, such as:
• Electricity bill
• Water bill
• Property tax receipt
• Society/HOA maintenance bill
• Registered rent/lease agreement
It doesn’t have to be in your name it just needs to match the property’s address you entered.
2. You will still need to complete identity verification using your own government-issued ID (passport is fine for NRIs).
3. The person helping you manage the property (if any) doesn’t need to be verified for the address only the listing owner.
4. If you’re abroad, you can upload the documents online directly through Airbnb no need to physically be in India.
As long as the property address is correct and the verification docs match it, hosting as an NRI is straightforward.
Hope you’re able to get your listing live soon, best of luck with hosting! 😊
