Advance notice

Advance notice

I have a setting on my listing asking for "at least 1 day's advance notice". An email dated midnight last night requested a booking for tonight. I only got it this morning and I declined the booking. The client is understandably put out, she commented, "Oh okay that's shame. It did say it was available, maybe you can look into that because it's not very convenient and gives less options for people who need short notice accommodating. Thanks". Does anyone know why my listing was still showing when she was trying to book within a day of checking in?

Your listing is showing you have set Request to Book. 1 Day Advance Notice is NOT 24hrs. A guest can book up to 11:59 (midnight) tonight and still be able to check-in tomorrow with only 1Day Advance Notice set. If they try to book at 12:01 am - they will not be able to (it also shouldn't show available I believe?)

If you need a full 24hours between bookings, then set your Advance Notice to 2Days. This will prevent guests from seeing the listing at all if it is a last minute booking and avoid the guest grumbling, and you having to decline a request to book (never a good idea to decline if you can help it).

A guest can send a request to book at any time .

your setting just means they can't use IB if that's something you use.

the guest would know if they had to send a request to book that it was just that and you wouldn't necessarily be able to accommodate @Diana3152

Thanks for your response @Helen3 - what's IB?

I think IB is Instant Book? If so, I get what you're saying. Many thanks @Helen3

Yes that's correct @Diana3152
