I am a frequent airbnb user but a friend booked the one we are staying in this weekend. I am currently en route and she just texted me to let me know that the two upstairs bedrooms are actually one room with a curtain separating them.
We are all middle aged adults who would like doors that can close. Is a curtain an accepted method of breaking up a bedroom or is this something we could follow up with airbnb? This airbnb was actually more expensive than staying in a three star hotel in the same area so I’m finding myself regretting this choice quite a bit!

Hello @Deborah1306
Was this not stated on her listing Deborah?! If not that's pretty unfair finding this out just before you get there.
According to the link I've included the two upstairs "bedrooms" should not be described as such but as a "shared room". The definition provided seems quite clear to me but I'll let you decide:
You have grounds to call Airbnb or message them and if this was not disclosed, you should ask for a discount at the very least.
All the best

Hi @Deborah1306
Fantastic advice from @Joelle43 so I'll just add that it might be worth having a look at this article which details best practice for what to do when an issue comes up during your stay.
Please do come back and let us know how you get on with sorting the issue out.

@Deborah1306 I would ask Airbnb to find you a proper 4 bed place or cancel and get your money back. They may struggle to find somewhere but they should at least try under Aircover for guests.
