Airbnbs shows an old profile picture

Airbnbs shows an old profile picture

Hi there.

I just got told by a guest that my profile picture showing up on the listing cover in the search results of my room is an old one I changed months ago.

Any reason why this would not update?

On my account the correct profile picture is shown.

Hi @Victor-And-Sheena0 👋

Have you changed your profile photo on your Airbnb hosting profile? If so, would you be able to share a screenshot of your old photo appearing please?

Yup, I have this error as well. This error has been there for at least 3 months for me. While my listings for Entire Home show my correct and recent photo, my listings for Rooms (in a search for traveling) are showing a photo I uploaded 6 years ago (which was replaced twice in the past 3 years). Room profiles are pulling from a very old photo file.

@Jimmi27

That is odd as when I look at your Home Listing and Room listings they all show the same profile photo? 🤔

Here is a screenshot of a search page for my town. My listing is the middle of 3 in this image. The photo being pulled was replaced by me 3 years ago. But for a search of ROOMS, the old photo is shown instead of the new one. Maybe Winter 2026 will fix it.

also here. +3-year-old photo.

@Jimmi27

I see what you are saying now for sure...

This is the "Host Passport" photo that Airbnb started using when they created the Rooms Category in the Summer of 2023. However, When you click into your listing it shows the correct photo. 🤔

This may be related to the fact that Airbnb removed Categories and Rooms is considered a Category. When removing the Categories features, they may have inadvertently removed the photo connection to the new Host profile feature they added. They would have to connect the "Host Passport" photo (little album photo guests see) to your Host profile photo to fix this I would imagine?

Perhaps one of the moderators can forward this to the correct Team at Airbnb to get this corrected?

@Victor-And-Sheena0  you can see the Host Passport photo (icon that guest sees when searching) is different from their profile photo shown on their Host profile

I am having the same exact issue as @Victor-And-Sheena0 .  Is there any way to fix it?

Indeed, there seems to be no means of fixing this issue. And this has quite a big impact on bookings. My guest actually told me she hesitated before booking because of the picture, this is how I found out about the issue.

@Bhumika @Rebecca

Having the same problem here. Since one month I have been talking to Airbnb Support with no results. They just send the same message all over again that they are taking care of it. So finally I called my lawyer and she told me it is totally against the law that Airbnb is using our old pictures that were deleted by us. I can also imagine a total confusion the guests are having seeing a different picture on the search site and a different one on the listing.

.@Jimmi27 .@Thien48

Did he advice any procedure to make things change?

Yes, it is a typical data breach, so I was advised to notify The President of the Personal Data Protection Office, which I did.

@Rebecca , can you please forward this to the appropriate team at Airbnb? This will become a real issue for both Airbnb and Hosts if not addressed.

Hi @Joan2709@Victor-And-Sheena0@Ewa436@Thien48 and @Jimmi27

Just wanted to pop back here to let you know that this is a known bug and the Airbnb team are working on a fix.

I hope this helps,
