Alarm System Panel Camera
My alarm system security panel (ADT) is located in the foyer of my home, which is a common space for both hosts and guests. The panel has a camera at the top that takes a photo in the event of a break-in. It doesn't have a live view, doesn't record audio, and doesn't record video. Airbnb is telling me they are removing my listings until I remove the security system. What the heck do I do? I've proven that this thing doesn't record video or audio. They won't hear me.

I would think that you should be able to disable the camera feature (remove the camera) in order to appease Airbnb. Technically, it is a camera inside the listing, whether it actively records or not which is against their new rules about cameras inside the listing. Do you have other exterior cameras that you could access footage if need be if a person breaks in? Doorbell camera or other cameras around the property?

Thanks for the reply @Joan2709 . I do have exterior security cameras, including a ring doorbell, but Airbnb has told me that I must physically remove the device from the foyer (in this case, the entire security panel). I told them about the setting change, but that doesn't seem to satisfy them. Removing the whole panel just isn't an option as it's built into the wall and wired in. So I guess I don't really have any recourse here but to remove it if I want to continue hosting.

@Timothy420 I am sure an alarm specialist could go into the panel and remove the camera.

Probably. This equipment is owned by ADT and I’m not sure how happy they’d be about someone gutting it haha.
