Why is it that when I block dates on my Airbnb calendar because of maintenance or private bookings

Airbnb do not block the dates on the calendar that the potential guest's see, I have had to disappoint several guest's in the last few weeks.

There are no different calenders, the host calender and the guest calender have the same source. If you blocked the dates correctly , then those dates are unavailable for guests to book. If there is a glitch then  the dates you want to block are not actually blocked. So doublecheck on both calenders if you assume there is a glitch in the system and report it via Airbnb Feedback
