Co-Host Wannabe Seeking First Step Advice

I’m new and very interested in becoming an Airbnb co-host. I don’t own a property, but I’d love to help a host and learn how co-hosting works. Can someone please tell me what the first step should be to get started?

I’m open to advice, stories, or even resources to read.

Hi @Shahi105, welcome to the Airbnb Community!

It’s great to hear that you’re interested in becoming a co-host. Even if you don’t own a property, co-hosting is a great way to get started and learn how hosting works.

As a first step, I recommend reading about co-hosting on the Airbnb Resource Center. It explains what co-hosts do, how they support main hosts, and tips to succeed in the role.

Wishing you all the best on your hosting journey! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need support.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate you taking time to reply to me.🫶

where can I contact hosts and where can I find them?

Hi @Shahi105, @Elisa, and @Waseem34,
Thank you all so much for your kind words and thoughtful replies! I truly appreciate the support and the great conversation. And thank you for selecting my reply as a Top Answer—it means a lot! 🙏

@Shahi105 – You’re asking a great question! To connect with hosts, I recommend joining Airbnb hosting-related groups on platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, or even right here in the Community Center. You can also reach out directly through Airbnb if you know someone in your area who’s already hosting. Let people know you're available to co-host and share what skills you bring to the table.

@Waseem34 – I’d be happy to help however I can! Feel free to message me here or let me know which area you're looking to co-host in so I can better guide you.

We’re all learning and growing together—let’s keep supporting each other!

Thank you so much

Hi @Shahi105 😊

Thank you for asking this question here!

What inspired you to become a co-host?
Do you think you might buy a property one day?

In addition to what our hosts have shared, I’m also passing along this link 👉 How to find and become an experienced Co-Host on Airbnb?

Warm regards 🌻,

Thank you for Giving me your time🫶

Honestly, a lot of things inspired me to become a cohost I wouldn’t stop counting if I did,

But one of the main things is because I have time and I hate it when someone wastes time😂

In shaa Allah, if Allah gave me enough age, I would  definitely buy one.

And I want to ask you the same question, Where can I contact with hosts?

Again, thank you so much💗

Hi @Shahi105 😊

Thank you for letting me know!

Where are you hosting from? That way, I can connect you with some hosts in your area.

Are you thinking to co-host remotely or for a specific location?

Warm regards 🌻

Hello @Elisa

thank you again for your reply

I am from Iraq, but since Airbnb and other platforms are not very famous here so I’m planning to do it outside my country, and I so I want to do it remotely and it doesn’t not matter which location it is as long as it has good OCR.

thank you🫶

Just to let you know most hosts employ a cohost  with experience as hosts themselves because they want someone who can be available locally , who can source and manage suppliers and cleaners, do spot checks and be on hand in case of problem guests or issues with the property  and who knows how the different STR platforms work..

some management companies do employ remote cohosts .
