Custom Promotion

We are currently using Smart Pricing with a minimum nightly price of $230. I'm looking fill a 10 day window this month and want to run a custom 20% promotion. When adding the promotion it shows a nightly price of $179 (before promotion) and after the 20% off it brings it down to $143. Any idea where the $179 is coming from. We are looking to offer 20% off our lowest minimum nightly price of $230. Thanks!

@Jackie237 Do you have any other discounts like 7 day discount that may be coming into place before the 20%?

Airbnb uses an "average" price over the last 60days to calculate a Custom Promotion. This is why it's not just taking 20% off your $230 nightly rate. This is done by Airbnb to prevent Hosts from artificially inflating a price and then applying a promotion to the inflated price. Additionally, be cautious when using Custom Promotions, as your weekly or monthly discounts will be stacked on top of the promotion discount if they apply to the period of the reservation. For this reason we don't offer a weekly discount on some properties if we are using custom promotions alot.
