Damage done to a carport NZ

My neighbor has messaged me about hearing a big clanging noise and when she looked out side, my guest who has just checked in, hit the roof of my carport. 

The guest hasn't informed. Me yet. Do I make contact with them or wait until tomorrow? 

The booking was booked by their  Admin from work.

Any advice greatly appreciated. This is the first incident I've had.

@Heidi300 I would contact them and say that your neighbour has seen that they have hit the carport and can you arrange a time to meet and review the damage together. That way it is on record that you have a witness to the event.
