Delayed Airbnb Notifications and messages

Hello,

 

The last couple months, We have had various messages delayed for 24 hours to a couple days. Causing lots of confusion on our end, customers and not enough time to prepare in a handful of instances.

Do you experience the delay on the phone app, or desktop browser?

 

I'm often experiencing a delay for notifications of new Airbnb messages on my app (Android), usually couple of minutes, but today for several hours.

 

That resulted in my guest walking and waiting in freezing rain, eventually giving up and finding some other accommodation.

 

I gave them a "feedback" about this in the "messaging" section.

Would you be able to give me some more information please so I can raise this with the relevant team? 

I'd love to know:
What device you were using?
If the app, could you let me know what version of the software you have installed? 

If the browser, could you let me know which one you are using and when was the last time you updated it? 

Once I've got this info, I'll be able to reach out to the team so they can investigate.

Thank you @Ludo431,. The tech team have asked if you can try the following: 

  1. Log out (on all affected devices/browsers)
  2. Close all browser windows/tabs (on all affected devices/browsers)
  3. Open ONE new window (on all affected devices/browsers)
  4. Clear cache and cookies and browser history (on all affected devices/browsers)
  5. Delete & re-install app (if applicable)
  6. Log in with EMAILFROM_ACCOUNT_

It could be an issue with the Phone Carrier (due to delays on their end) too, so double check with them also. 

 

If the issue still persists, could you provide either a video or screenshots, as they cannot see the notifications you receive on their end.
