Digital guidebook

Digital guidebook

I have been a SuperHost for 2 years and have learned so much and  truly enjoy hosting.

I have 1 property and self manage it mostly alone (and maintenance help from my husband). The only thing that has been bothering me  for a long while is not  having a digital guidebook.  I've researched many different options and chose TouchStay . I'm only on their platform for the guidebook,  with that being said I would appreciate any feedback I can and in advance I Thank you all !!!  Happy Hosting  Helene

Good morning @Helene669 !  I too use TouchStay for my listings.  It is a great tool and the guests that actually use it really do enjoy and appreciate it.

The challenge will be getting guests to  use it.  I do send to guests  multiple times, immedately after booking letting them now they can start planning things to do now, then again about 5 days before arrival and then the day of stay.  I send in the platfrom, email as well as SMS.  Not using all mediums at the same time each send.  I find the sms delivery likely has the most open and use rates.

I did create a FAQ section in the very beginning of the guide for those that don't like to read anything and that has been helpful. These are about 10 of the most common questions I get.

If I do get questions from guests about something that is in the guide,  I will simply copy and paste the answer link from the guide back to the guest.  Once they open it, they will get their answer and also be "in the guide" and hopefully explore more.

For each subject I use a photo and I think that adds some interest.  An example would be check in time is 10:00, I have a clock picture with the hands at 10:00.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask me any specific questions about Touchstay happy to help.

I grew up in Salem NH and now live in MA 😀

@Helene669 Thank you Karen for the great suggestions. I hope you don't mind,  I'm going to use some of them. Looking through the listing did you see anything that would be in agreement with Airbnb policies? I do not want to be deliste

Hi @Helene669 😊

That’s fantastic! Karen shared some great suggestions with you.

Which ones are you planning to implement?

@Helene669

A sugestion that we used weith good responses in Hawaii.  So many businesses have Digital Coupons.  We just asked and they loved having another audience.  Guest have the normal human tendency, they go and look if there is a benefit to them.  We promoted we collected our recomended discounts for the island which gave us the desired effect reading our FAQs.  Use a carrot. Haha

Marie Thank you, for the suggestions...that's a great idea for the coupons.  I do it now for some restaurants that we have in our manual but never thought of applying onto the guidebook...Thank you and some day when I visit Hawaii I'll stay at your listing...Here is my digital guidebook..*

@Helene669  Your listing looks good.  The only thing I would suggest is brighter pics, some of them are really dark.

I believe you can private message me and you can share your guidebook there and I will share mine with you.

Karen

Karen, I wanted to share with  you a copy of the link for my guidebook to give me any suggestions.  You can never have enough recommendations from fellow SuperHosts. That's funny you lived in Salem. I grew up in Salem.  It was a small town then, now not so much.  Send me a link to your listing I would love to see it. We frequent Boston and thats a great quick getaway.
