Hello. Could the community manager here please post the criteria, qualifications and benefits for the new “Guest Favorite” title and comparison with “Superhost” ? Thanks in advance.
@Marianne89 They have done in many posts already. Basically the guest favourites, on average, achieve 4.9 stars. So 10 at 5 stars will allow 1 at 4 stars. THIS MAKES NO SENSE IN ANY WORLD OTHER THAN THAT INHABITED BY AIRBNB!
Rant over.......
@Adriano78 No need to tell me it makes no sense. Let's just hope Airbnb are getting the message. I wonder if it looks at the last X months so properties that have improving ratings can be guest favourites.
Who knows it just lacks credibility for me.
I read it is based on reviews and reliable data, but there are not specific criteria.
Hello @Marianne89, Thank you for asking these questions in our Community.
Airbnb Superhosts are the top-rated, most experienced Hosts on Airbnb, committed to providing outstanding hospitality. They’re rated on a number of 👉criteria, including maintaining a 4.8+ overall rating, hosting at least 10 stays in the past year, keeping their cancellation rate below one percent, and responding quickly to new messages from guests. They’re rated against these measures across their Host account and are evaluated on a quarterly basis.
Guest Favorites have a history of positive reviews and are rated above 4.9 stars on average. They have a superb record of reliability, with Host cancellations and quality-related customer service issues of 1% on average. It is evaluated on an individual listing level and takes into consideration a number of other signals of quality and reliability, including subcategory ratings for a listing’s cleanliness, accuracy, communication, location, check-in, and value, as well as any guest feedback left in a review. Guest Favorites are dynamic and their status is refreshed on a daily basis. Today nearly two-thirds of Guest Favorites come from Superhosts. 👉Here you can find more information about Guest Favorites' criteria.
I hope this helps.
Superhost with 4.62, how explain it?
@Paula, your statement "hosting at least 10 stays in the past year" doesn't seem to be correct bc there are several listings in my area that have received the Guest Favorite badge which have less than 10 reviews. There should be a minimum # of reviews, based on the popularity of your area, required to receive the badge.
I read on Reddit that it only applies to properties that have 5 stars overall and 5 stars in cleanliness over their last 5 reviews. You would think if this is the case, Airbnb would put it in their "articles" or that support would be able to explain this. I do not see a filter on the guest search anymore to filter by superhost, just a giant filter button right at the top of the filter page for Guest Favorites and Luxe Properties. Essentially filters out any Superhost that has gotten a 4 (in overall or cleanliness) over their last five reviews, even if you have a 5 star overall rating.
@Paula - Can you explain where in your response or your "article" this is spoken to?
My overall star rating for my listing is 4.96 over 270 reviews.
My last '4' star for cleaning was 24 reviews ago about 3 months ago. All 23 reviews since then have been '5' stars for cleaning.
My last '4' overall was 35 reviews ago about 4 months ago. All 34 reviews since then have been '5' stars overall.
So it looks like it is not over the last 5 reviews but far more than that. For me so far, solid 5's overall for the last 34 reviews and 5's for cleaning for the last 23 reviews and I still don't have the 'Guest Favorite' badge.
UPDATE: Looks like an AirBnb engineer or someone saw this as I am now appearing as 'Guest Favorite' with no new reviews coming in.
