Is there a way to enter the 13% HST on the platform so it will be added to my room rate when the guest is booking ?
First...I am not familiar with Canada taxes...
Here is what I have seen from other Hosts in Canada - there appears to be a $30,000 threshold for registering for HST? If you added your HST registration numbers when creating the listing, it looks like Airbnb doesn't collect the HST?
Suggest you read through the Help article, as it does appear Airbnb is NOT collecting HST for you, but only the Stratford MAT of 4%. I checked other listings in Stratford, and they do have the 13% HST and the 4% MAT added to each reservation:
Why Airbnb requests Canadian GST, HST, and QST info

Thank you Joan. I have been trying to contact them to see how to add it.
Did you register with Canada Revenue Agency? If so, Airbnb will not collect the 13% HST.
Just to note: very difficult to reach a CS rep who understands taxes.
Yes I did register. I want them to remove my number but I cannot seem to get them to as of yet.
So since you registered, that is the reason they aren’t adding the taxes.
Not sure you will be successful undoing that? It’s an Uphill battle with Airbnb I’m afraid.
While you are waiting to figure that out…you still owe the 13% HST on each reservation. You’ll need to
1. pay out of pocket
2. increase your prices by 13% (not ideal)
3. collect the tax manually from each guest (a pain). Must disclose on listing.
You can see if you are allowed to add a custom tax, but you’ll need to turn on Professional Hosting Tools.
Thank you. I will do that

Airbnb doesn't always have the option to add a Custom Tax in all jurisdictions.
