Hi all
I have set a minimum of nights but I keep receiving requests for less nights. This is annoying specially because I have to reject the request and explain to the guest why I don't want him/her booking.
Is there a way my house do not show up if the request does not match the minimum??
thanks
Enrique
Hi again @Enrique1340
So it sounds like you want to restrict check-in & check-out dates as well as the min stay?
If that is the case, then your rule sets will have to not only include a min stay but you will have to add a check-in/check-out day of week restriction to the Rule Set in order for it to work correctly:
nope, I dont want that. I'm open to receive guests any day of the week, and that's how is set on my calendar. I don't understand why you thought so, but thank you for helping!
I only want long rentals if they come over my weekend, that's why I have a minimum of x nights if booking takes place during Thu, Fri or Sat. If they want Mon and Tues, then for me it's ok. A 2 night rental outside the weekend, perfect!
I don't want to receive enquiries for a rental that is Fri and Sat (2 nights), but I'm receiving them. It's just annoying, but it's nothing more than that.
Thanks!
Ahaa...then you create a Rule Set for each day (Thu/Fri/Sat) and set your min stay for those dates and restrict the check-out day. There are several ways to do this.
For example, someone wants to check-in on Thurs, but you don't want them to breakup a weekend. Set your min stay in Rule (3nights lets say) then add they cannot checkout on a Fri or Sat. This forces them to stay Thur/Fri/Sat and checkout on Sun.
Create another Rule Set for Fri with a min stay and not allowing them to check-out on Sat/Sun.
OR
Create another Rule Set that doesn't allow anyone to check-in or check-out on a Fri/Sat.
The system will allow someone to book even if you set a 4day min if their reservation touches your Rule Set. The only way to prevent this is to add checkout restrictions to the Rule Set. (if I understand what you're trying to do correctly 😊)
Hope that makes sense. @Mike-And-Jane0 do alot of Rule Sets also. Maybe they can chime in here if I don't have this correct.
I think we are loosing the point here.
It's ok for me if they check out on a Friday/Sat/Sun... anyday, as long as they have stayed for 4 nights minimum. The issue is that I do receive requests that don't match my minimum stay.
I only have to create one rule which is minimum 4 nights. That's all. I did it, I applied to certain days, but it's not working.
Yes, unfortunately unless you add check-in checkout restrictions to your Rule Set, you will still receive requests for less than that. This is because of the reservation "touch" issue with Airbnb. You would have to have a 4day minimum on every day or customize the Rule Set with check-in/check-out restrictions in order for it to work the way you want.
For example, a guest might want to check-in on a Wed and check out on a Friday. Even though you set a min stay on Friday of 4 nights their reservation starts on a Wed (no restrictions) and just "touches" that Rule Set. The system will show those dates as available on searches.
I believe there are some other conversation in the CC about the touch issue if you wanted to research that. Below is one thread I found that describes the "loophole".

"The first day of your reservation is all that matters in terms of minimum night stays."
