Probably a common question, but I don't see the answer anywhere and I can't figure it out. How does one add their registration number / business license number? I have an old one on my listing, but apparently I need to renew it. But for the life of me I can't find it, and all the answers I find online lead to very old solutions that don't work anymore.
Greeting @Stefan4440
I’m unable to provide information on that as I live in McHenry, IL, USA & am not required to render any registration numbers, etc. except my social security number.
Best regards,
Bettye6
I'm genuinely confused as to why you would respond to say that you have no information. If you have nothing to add to the conversation, why would you respond?
Hi @Stefan4440 👋
It's been a while since you posted and I'm wondering whether you managed to get a resolution to your question?
It'd be great to hear from you, so we can understand what the resolution was but also to support other Hosts who may have similar questions in the future. 😊
Hi Rebecca. I didn’t get any responses that helped me sort out my issue. I think my issue is very basic, but I can’t figure it out. If you can help that would be appreciated
Hi @Stefan4440, I also need to add a business license number to the listing and can't figure out how and where. I found under Menu -> account -> business details -> business registration details but they can't just be edited. It says on the bottom to ->make updates here and then I'm stuck. It won't let me make any changes.
Did you figure it out?
I believe you enter your registration number in the preferences section under local laws.
Go to Listing Editor
Click Preferences Icon top right
Tap Local Laws
Let us know if that works as it might help another Host.
I appreciate your screen grabs, but they actually don’t show anything about where one would enter this information. There’s nowhere within “Local laws” to enter that data. Just a bunch of copy on how I should abide by local regulations. Not at all helpful
Thanks for the instructions but unfortunately it did not work for me.
I applied for and received a registration number from the City of Chicago which allowed me to operate my Airbnb for year. Upon renewal it was denied due to a clerical error. Airbnb no longer allowed me to operate considering the registration was denied. I appealed the denial and won. The city has now approved the registration. I cannot figure out how to inform Airbnb to "recheck" the registration # with the city to see that it was approved.
Unfortunately, looks like you'll have to work with Airbnb on this one. I'm assuming you have forwarded them a copy of your new registration license/permit?
Sadly, I never figured it out. I’ve just accepted that Airbnb has made it as difficult as possible. Perhaps they don’t want us to abide by local regulations.
Ciao @Stefan4440 , maybe the listing layout is different in different countries but in mine it is possible to add a registration number.

Please let me know if it helps, thanks!
No regulations for me
@Dawn241 - Oh bother! Time to message CS I think and at least you have proof of what it should look like as no doubt about it, regulations is missing. Some bugs have arisen for those with the new Photo Tour.
Good luck!
All the best
