How to handle the need to cancel a guest reservation

I advertise my home for midterm rentals to travel nurses and professionals as well as short term on Airbnb. Does anyone have advise on how I should set up my calendar so I can accommodate both? I just turned off instant booking because of a conflict.

I don't want to miss a 3+ month booking because of a short term booking all ready on the calendar.

Does anyone else accommodate both and have some suggestions on better ways to do this? Is there a way to just offer a short term window of vacancy instead of opening up the calendar all the way?

@Philip3404 You can't just cancel one booking because you have a better offer - Ignoring how unethical this is it would also cause your Airbnb calendar to be blocked so you wouldn't be able to take the other booking.

Going forward switch on pro tools in your account. Then set your min stay to 90 days and modify this with a ruleset for those dates that are available on a shorter term basis.

Thanks for your reply, I wouldn't just cancel the booking. I was hoping that I could just offer a shorter window of availability like just 3 weeks in the future at a time. There doesn't seem to be a way to do that. I would like to just fill in weeks when the home is not booked on a midterm rental.

@Philip3404 Then pro tools and rulesets are the way to go AFTER you set the standard min stay to 2/3 months.
