Insurance issues

Has anyone had any luck with an insurance claim? Airbnb have been awful to deal with - just using company jargon.. you wonder why they can't talk like normal people.. I guess when you get this big, you cant to pretend otherwise.

The oven blew up when our guests were there, and because I got it replaced immediately, my normal insurer (Which is CBA insurance) wont insurer it becuase they needed to see it.

So I put a request in to Airbnb, and they said becuase its past their 30 day period, they cant do anything.

So has anyone had any luck beyond the 30 day period? Interested to see if this is common.

@Robert412 several issues here

1) Airbnb does not provide insurance for guest damage.

2) An oven failing would not be covered under any insurance except for those policies purchased with an appliance (which are not good value by the way)

3) If it is appliance insurance that you had why didn't you keep the oven to show to the insurer

4) Aircover (which is not insurance) is only designed to cover guest damage NOT appliance failure with the guest present

5) Even if Aircover did pay out it would be a depreciated amount and nothing like enough to cover a new oven
