If you accept long term booking (like a few months) , there is a problem. We should bring this up to AIRBNB to fix it.
The guest can cancel their long term booking anytime after their check in and if it has a Firm/Strict policy they will be charged for nights spent+ just an additional 30 nights. This 30 nights charge will be applied as soon as they cancel but what if they change their credit card info last minute and leave. AIRBNB can not collect the money!
AIRBNB should collect this additional 30 night in advance and release it when the booking is completed.
I have a one year booking from a guest, now after two months check in they want to cancel due to their own personal matters (nothing wrong with the place). When I accepted their booking I didn't know they can cancel anytime , now what if they leave the country right away and AIRBNB is unable to collect at least that additional 30 nights?
Hi @Noosh1! I just came across a conversation that some of our more experienced hosts were having related to the Long-term cancellation policy, and I thought it could be helpful to share it with you.
