I blocked a date on my calendar. Why can I no longer make a note on a blocked date on my calendar?
Hello @Joan2709
Do you know when the New Release will become mandatory for all by any chance? I'm teetering on accepting the New Release to test it out and to better understand what issues hosts are encountering. It's frustrating not being able to check out what's being said by CS but then again don't want to find myself in a pickle as a result😂
I am wondering if some features are only available if you use the app (like adding notes) which seems to be posing a problem if you use a computer?
Not sure when this software will be released to the entire platform, as Airbnb doesn't seem to ever announce that. It's usually a month or so after the initial early release opt-in. One of the moderators might know?
The notes issue is on both the App and on desktop, so no way around that unless you are using Professional Hosting Tools and the multicalendar to add the note, but you can't use the multicalendar on your phone, so you would need to add notes on a desktop to any date not connected to a reservation. With the release you can only add notes on the regular calendar if it is connected to a reservation using the new interface. It is problematic for many Hosts who rely on their phones and not a computer.
Here are the other known bugs:
- "Guest price before taxes" and "You earn" not displaying for all calendar nights
- New Custom Trip Length button missing from the regular calendar
- Can't add notes on the regular calendar for blocked or unbooked nights (only on reservations)
- Some scheduled messages off by one hour and can't be corrected (edited)
- Quick Replies templates missing
- Rule Sets can only be edited on Multicalendar not regular calendar
I have done more research since I commented and I’ve managed to add a note. Did it on web page not app. Using professional tool and it was simple and linked to my app.
Buongiorno @Joan2709 ,
if I click from PC on a date in my calendar here is what I see ... does that mean I have the new release in place? Very strange since I didn't opt for the new release! 😂
@Joan2709 then they "enlisted" me without my knowledge! 😂
And I still have the option to enlist available, see below 🤣
Well that's odd! Maybe the new software is released differently to different countries? The US listings still have the old software unless you opt in early?
Airbnb is aware of a bug with Notes as a result of the Summer Release and are working on it. In the meantime, as a workaround you can turn on Professional Hosting Tools and use the Multicalendar, as the Add a Private Note feature is still available there. This is a workaround until Airbnb fixes Notes on the regular calendar. All Hosts can use Professional Tools, even if they only have one listing. The multicalendar is only available on desktop though; not the App:
Couldn't agree more about removing personal notes. Imaging siting around the Airbnb strategic planning table on Monday morning and someone says... "Hey, I had a great idea over the weekend. Let's remove personal notes." Then all in attendance agree. Seriously? What a mind numbing fumble and talk about a huge step backward. C'mon Airbnb, pick up the ball and get back in the game. Gives us the personal notes back. Sooner the better.
