New listing - keep getting reminders

Three questions please:

I've just posted a new listing (my first) for a ground floor apartment with direct access to the street, but a main door that is too narrow for a wheelchair.

I was asked to provide details of parking, which I've done, and it was rejected on the grounds that I didn't specify the location of disabled-only space.  All parking in the town is totally free and there are no dedicated disabled parking spaces because the town council decided there was no need, (and I agree).  In any case, as I said, there is no need for specific information about disabled parking.  I have never, ever been unable to park less than ten metres from the apartment entrance.

But the layout of the town, (very hilly in my little corner), makes it almost impossible to get the nearest parking and the apartment entrance in shot together without a drone camera, which I don't have, or leaning a ladder against the war memorial to get the height, which would not be very popular, and the spaces just a little further away have a substantial building in the way.  Also there is no Google Street View there.

Any suggestions please?

The second thing is that despite doing my bank details I am still getting reminders to provide them.  Might I be missing something?

Help really appreciated.  Answers in English or French please.

Thirdly I posted the apartment in English and have found considerable flaws in the auto French translation.  Am I able to do both languages myself please, and if so, how?

Hello @Barry447

I'm wondering if you haven't filled in the accessibility part of your listing thinking it means describing the access for guests in general but it's real purpose is to give information for those with disabilities which might explain why your parking space is being rejected since there isn't a disabled spot provided.

This section can be left blank if your property isn't adapted for wheelchair access.

You can talk about the off street parking in your general description and you can list this in your amenities.

Hopefully that answers question 1😉

Onto question 2 - this comes up often on the CC and do not know why the system keeps asking hosts to provide bank details when they have already submitted the information.  To make sure you are ready to receive payment, I would give Customer service a call on 01 84 88 40 00 (French number)

Next, question 3 - yes most definitely translate your listing in both languages rather than let Google do the job. I have done this for my listing and the way to do this is to go onto your listing in host mode:

==>Description

==>Title - so currently your title is in English and under this caption you should see "Add a language" choose French and off you go translating your title

==>You'll need to do this for every sub-heading - Listing description, Your property, Guest access, Interaction with guests, Other details to note, House rules and others that I'm forgetting.

==>Don't forget to save which is all the way down the bottom of the page each time!! Speaking from experience here😉

Good luck,

Joëlle

Hi @Joelle43

Thank you for the comprehensive reply.

The main entrance door will not quite take a standard wheelchair, but the parking in Axat is 100% free ... everywhere.  I think I'm allowing myself to get the two confused.

Thanks for the advice on the translation methods.  While English is my native language, I could see instantly the the French had errors as I speak the language to a high standard.

I appreciate your assistance.

Hello @Barry447

I am bilingual so if you get stuck with something, just send me a private message and I'll happily translate for you - no charge of course!!

I talk about the parking situation for our listing in the bit called "guest access" which you can see by clicking on my profile picture and then "view Airbnb profile"

All the best

Joëlle

Hi @Joelle43

Thank you.  I'm actually about 97% bilingual and my daughter has lived and worked here for over twenty years and her husband is French, so I think I'm safe on French.  (And my six year old granddaughter is flawlessly fluent in both).

I'm also a member of the website Freelancer and have translators available for the other two languages I want to do - Danish and Dutch.  (The village is awash with both nationalities in the summer).  I might possibly do German as well.

Appreciate the help.  Kind regards

Barry

Hi @Barry447 ,

I don't have accessibility features turned on as our listing is on the lower floor, so not 100% familiar with this. My assumption is if you have it turned on, AIrBNB needs more info from you to be listed with this amenity. If you were to think of it from a guest's point of view they want as much info as possible, especially if they have a wheelchair.

What happens if you disable this amenity? Are you able to move forward?

With your credit card issue, @Joelle43 would be my suggestion, but I know that with SaaS-based platforms, certain counties require you to call the bank to allow for online transactions. Perhaps you'll also need to call your bank to inquire.

Hope you're able to sort it out!
