What is the new NIGHTS booking feature
Hello @Amy-And-BJ0
I've never heard of this - could you tell us more or send us a screenshot of this new feature maybe?
What's the full message @Amy-And-BJ0 - is it just asking you to open more nights on the calendar?
Airbnb is always pushing hosts to add more availability, and like @Joelle43 I'm also not aware of a new feature, so I'm just guessing maybe it's just asking you to unblock as many nights as possible?
Hello @Shelley159 @Amy-And-BJ0
I had a look at your calendar to see if that would help explain this new "add Nights" feature that I've never come across and can see that there are in fact very few nights available for quite a number of months to come.
So I'm wondering if AI is not detecting that these blocked nights didn't go through Airbnb and is therefore encouraging you to open up more nights to get more bookings (through Airbnb of course😉)
Am I warm or completely off topic?! Have you blocked these nights because they've come through another platform, direct bookings or maybe you've reserved them for yourselves?
Thank you Joelle43 for pointing that out. I am not aware of weeks or months that have been blocked. It is not showing on my end. That is soo weird. I'll check in to it 🤔🙏🏽
Hi @Amy-And-BJ0
The lack of calendar availability is for the Waimea Honu Hale house! You have two listings but I looked at the larger of the two houses
Hi Joelle43. So both my wife and I looked at our calendars from the host end and as a guest and we did not see an unusual amount of blocked nights. Just a couple of nights and very spread out. We even contacted Airbnb and they did not see many blocked nights. Can you help us by pin pointing what nights were blocked and when? Thank you.
Hello @Amy-And-BJ0
I'm including screen shots but you haven't said if the dates blocked on your calendar are because you have reservations via Airbnb or another platform? You have great ratings so that's quite possible but it's difficult to know from this end. There's no reason for the guest calendar and the host calendar to be different but Shelley and I are just trying to figure out why you've received this message to open up nights. Sometimes Airbnb just works in mysterious ways and there is no logic to be applied🤔
Hi Joelle43,
Thank you for those screen shots. Fortunately, those are all guest bookings at that airbnb and show up as reserved, and not personal blockings. None of those dates are errant. Therefore, its still a mystery why Airbnb would email us about "ADDING NIGblocking.
Oh well. 🙏🏽🤙🏾
"ADDING NIGHTS"
Hello @Amy-And-BJ0
It seems that AI is sending all types of weird and strange pop ups to hosts. Here are a few that I have read recently:
"It's high season, lower your prices" What??
"Shorten your minimum stay to 2 nights" again we're in high season, why would we do that?
"Add nights" to what - we have no idea!
"Give a 15% discount to 4.8* guests and we'll add 5% - most guests are 4.8* so not a great incentive and again, most of us are entering our high season.
I'm sure there will be more along the way but I am not going to overthink this as it is AI after all and frankly it needs to let us get on with hosting the way we think best for us!
Hi @Amy-And-BJ0 👋
Welcome to the Community Center! Did @Joelle43 and @Shelley159 help to solve the email prompt mystery?
@Amy-And-BJ0 I think you're in good hands with the experienced hosts @Joelle43 and @Shelley159 😊
Do you host on any other platforms?
