Not getting guests

I am a 3 month old host.My experience so far - July month,My first month as a host was reasonably good.August hardly any booking? September couple of booking so far.

Is it a lean period for traveling in Bangalore? I will eligible for super host in a few days which means to say I am almost 5star rating on all parameters

Where am I going wrong, Can someone guide me?

@Parthasarathy1, really glad to see you hosting! It is indeed a low period, and we are also facing quite less enquiries during this time. Usually it catches up this time, but there are a looot of factors playing in to the flow of guests in Bengaluru-

1. Weather patterns (rain troubles people)

2. Lots of long weekends or festivals makes Bengaluru less active on airbnb

3. No major work in offices

and many more, these are just on the top of my head.

Wait for a year and see the trend, next 4-5 months will be good and then again some slack. Frankly, it varies a lot but is good.

What you can do during these times-

1. Keep changing calendar pricing. Try to give custom promotions to keep your listing active

2. Plan for any updates when bookings are low if any required?

Hope this helps

@Parthasarathy1 I'm also new to hosting.  And speaking only from my experience, I can't always figure out why I get reservations and why I don't, some weeks are mostly last moment bookings, where they make the reservation just hours before and then other weeks are different having chatted with the people and answered all their questions the best I can, while being as honest as I possibly can of course. Right now I have two different properties listed, so that does help, when I get too worried about why one isn't doing well, I try to focus on what I can do to the other property to make it better.  But I digress.  Hang in there, you'll get the hang of it, if it's something you really want to do.

Thanks David for taking time from your busy schedule to reply.

Keeping fingers crossed.

“Congrats on almost reaching Superhost 🎉 That’s amazing in just 3 months! Bookings can fluctuate with seasonality, so it’s not always something you’re doing wrong. You might also think about a direct booking website alongside Airbnb it helps you showcase your property, take repeat bookings without fees, and sync calendars so you’re less dependent on Airbnb. Hi @Parthasarathy1 , thanks for sharing your doubts! I noticed that you have 3 listings. Is there any listing in particular that is not receiving booking inquiries?

I am inviting a few experienced hosts from Bengaluru to see if they have seen similar trends in bookings for a past couple of months.

Hi @Abhilash25 @Debapriyo0 @Fahad108 @Jane4950 @Ajit146 @Kirti18 @Rashmi43 @Rohit136 @Shravan0 , have you noticed any decline in guest inquiries since a past few months? If you could help @Parthasarathy1 with some advice, I will truly appreciate it. Thanks everyone!

Hi… I’m a fairly new host (and recently became a Superhost!)—just about to complete 5 months. The first 3 months were great, but bookings have slowed down since last month. At first, I thought it might be because of a couple of negative reviews (mostly with baseless claims), but after speaking with another host in Bangalore, I learned that they’re experiencing a slowdown too.

Hoping things will pick up again with the upcoming festive season!

I see @Rashmi43 ! Thanks so much for sharing this insight 🌻

Seems like it has been trend for most of the hosts. @Rashmi43 @Parthasarathy1 which are some of the upcoming festivals that you think could boost bookings?
