I am sending an email to request my pay out from airbnb since they removed my listings without providing the funds owed to me...

Hello I’m a super host and I want to make my Airbnb pet friendly, but I haven’t done it because I find that the way Airbnb has set up the fee is unfair. Why do I say that? It’s because if I decide to put a flat fee it wouldn’t be fair for our guests staying one or two nights versus one that will be staying 2 weeks or more.
I think Airbnb should update their policy and allow a nighty fee for pets. The same nightly fee that is charged for extra guests.
Can someone please give me advice with my conundrum. I will really appreciate it.
Something I want to make clear is that I’m not talking about service dogs. I know that as a host I can’t and will not charge a guest that brings a service dog, that would be ilegal.
Hi @Barbara3321
Hosts have been complaining about this for awhile and have been asking for this to be changed 🙁. Some Hosts will go to the trouble of explaining this is Airbnb's policy for pet fees, but that you will work with the guest thru the Resolution Center to increase/decrease the Pet Fee according to the circumstances; not ideal. Of course, you would have to clearly spell this out on your listing and communicate with the guest about it when they book or send a Trip Request.
I agree with you, if a guest is staying for a month or longer with two pets, the pet fee should be higher compared to a guest who is only staying 2 nights.
Thank you Joan! ☺️
Good morning Joan. I wanted to ask if there is any way you can give me an example of how to do it. Unfortunately I’ve notice that many guests don’t read the house manual. They maybe read half to get the coordinates and scroll down to get the lock box code. I was even thinking of making a collage with photos of dogs and explaining what I expect from the guest’s regarding their animal and about the daily pet fee. Any additional ideas. Thank you.
@Barbara3321 Making your Airbnb pet-friendly is a great way to attract a wider range of guests, but managing pet fees can indeed be a bit tricky with the flat rate feature by Airbnb. The most straightforward way to communicate your pet fee is by clearly mentioning it in the description of your Airbnb listing, and you may request it via Airbnb's Resolution Center. You may also include your pet policy and fee in the House Rules section of your listing. This is where guests often look for specific dos and don'ts related to their stay. Clearly state what kinds of pets are allowed and any rules specific to pets (like no pets on furniture, etc.). Hope this helps!

Unlike Vrbo, where you can set a pet rate per stay or per day, Airbnb doesn't allow such customization. However, some hosts on Airbnb include their pet fee in the listing, typically ranging from $15-20 per day. Alternatively, hosts might establish a flat rate per stay (which varies based on the duration) and it's often recommended to set a daily rate. Hope this helps
