Hi, I need urgent help in understanding the process.
I have listed my property, and got notified that my propert is a dulpication. Looking into it, the previous owner had failed to delist as instructed. They have now delisted it.
Now Airbnb are denying my appeal to retract the removal due to violations by the previous host.
Can I immediately relist the property following it being removed by Airbnb?
Or, can I delist my property and immediately relist given there would not be any duplication?
Airbnb appeals team are not being very helpful with providing the necessary answers.
Thanks in advance,
Bella
This is a common issue when a property is listed, which is still also listed by the previous owner.
Airbnb recognizes it as a "duplcate". Better not list a property before it is removed on Airbnb by the previous host !
It becomes even more complicated if the old listing has "problems"attached to it. Then Airbnb will not allow the new host to publish a new listing for the accommodation.
If you want more information or see discussions on the subject then search in this community with keywords "duplicate listing" and sort results to "date" (As the "duplicate" problem recently appeared in several threads)
Hi @Bella1212
This is quite common when a property previously had “listing issues” on Airbnb and is later relisted under a different account. The platform may automatically flag it as a duplicate listing, especially if the photos, address, or property details match the previous one. In most cases, it’s better to resolve the original issue rather than creating a new listing, as repeated relisting can make the situation more complicated and delay reinstatement.
If you are the new owner, tenant, or authorized manager of the property, it’s worth formally submitting proof of your right to list it. You can contact Airbnb support and provide supporting documents such as a signed lease agreement, proof of ownership, property authorization letter, utility bills under your name, or business registration if applicable. Clear documentation helps verify that you are legitimately managing the property and not duplicating an existing listing.
It may also help to proactively explain the situation especially if the previous listing was removed due to a dispute or policy violation. In some cases, Airbnb may allow just maybe the same property to be reactivated under a new responsible host after proper verification.
Best of luck!
Thanks for this.
However I have now reached out to Airbnb several times and just keep getting the same response.
They are not willing to relist the original property listing due to violations, and considering the evidence I have already provided, they are also nlt willing to relist my listing.
So what am I supposed to do? Can my property neber be on Airbnb again?
Is there a grace period as to hlw long I need tonwait before relisting?
They are not giving me any answers.
Its so frustrating.
