I started a listing as the manager for someone. I made them a cohost with full access. We no longer work together and i have made them the primary host and now I would like to remove myself from the listing but not have to delete it, just let them carry on with this.
is this possible? If so, how? If not, why?

as a cohost you should always help the owner set up the listing under their name and be added as a cohost @Ariel1733
by not doing so, unfortunately this means the owner will now lose all their reviews and ratings and they will have to set up a new listing .
you will have to keep the existing listing open while you still have live bookings but snooze the listing so you don't get further bookings .
If you didn't setup the listing with them as "Owner" that will be an issue I'm afraid.
1. Listings should be setup with the actual Owner's name on the listing
2. The Owner can then send you an invite to Co Host with Full Access
3. Once you are a Full Access Co Host, you can be made Primary Host, but the the Owner remains as "Owner" on the listing but will show as Co Host to guests only. In this scenario, either your or the Owner can remove you as Co Host and the Owner can still operate the listing.
You won't be able to fix this if you didn't setup the listing correctly. You will have to delete the listing and the owner will have to create a new listing and start over. All the reviews will also stay with you instead of going to the actual owner.
When you go to the Listing Editor under Co Hosts, if their name doesn't show as "Owner" (your name appears as "Owner") you will have to delete the listing and the owner will have to create a new one.
Hi @Ariel1733
@Joan2709 knows her stuff, and here's a little bit of the "If not, why?":
If listings could be transferred, people would create listing mills where they build up listings' reputations and sell them to the highest bidder. Guests would think they're booking a highly rated place, not knowing it's been auctioned off and that past reviews are irrelevant. They wouldn't be able to trust what they see on the screen, so the Airbnb system wouldn't work.
