Our bookings were down 30% this summer for our 1-bedroom Airbnb. Locally, I heard travel was down 20% this summer; however, I just tried to book a stay in Beavercreek, OH (Near Wright State University) to visit our daughter who is in her second year there. We literally can not find a place available on Airbnb! There are places there but these "experiences" filters don't let you see the most common units and the map feature is worthless. We just need a cheap, one night, stay in a simple unit with a clean, comfortable, bed that is in a safe neighborhood. It was super hard to even find the Airbnb units we stayed at last year! They were hidden under layers of drill down menus. I ended up just booking at a local Hotel because it was easier! Unbelievable... It kind of makes me mad that a system that was originally super easy to use has now become so complicated and cumbersome in an attempt to alway be fresh and new. Makes me wonder how many people couldn't find our listing that usually books every day in the summer.
