Set dates

Hello, New host looking for advice.

I had someone book over New Years. Now they want to change the date to 2 days after New years. This wont leave us time to have the place booked for a holiday. If I change the cleaning time it changes over all the dates. So if I accept their change I wont be able to book over the holiday. Can I set a specific check in date for just holidays? Its not a good idea to decline changes is it? Should I accept the change and then figure out how to change the dates after?

@Silka9 by downloading pro tools (in your account) you will have access to rule sets which give you latitude to specify check in/out dates that vary across the year.

I would reject the change request and explain to the guest that you will lose a new year booking. Perhaps offer to refund them if they cancel.

@Silka9 There is no penalty that comes with rejecting a change booking request. I would not accept a change request in this circumstance. Advise them to cancel instead, and offer to refund them any portion of the dates that you’re able to rebook. They can make a new booking if they wish.
