Good morning

And best wishes to you for joining Airbnb family.

Certain things you need to do when you start - a clear thought of what you would offer to the guests like bedroom, sharing spaces and add ons means facilities. Then clear house rules and most importantly you need to put good and attractive pictures of your home interiors and if of the surrounding.

Location of your property also matters. Nearby market places and places like parks etc where guests can spend some peaceful time will be an added attraction. There is facility in Airbnb to add a Guidebook to your listing. Use it to add tourist attraction places and local excursions.

You also have to be clear if you want everyone to book or only Airbnb verified guests.

I hope this will help you go a long way.

Thanks

Hi @Tanada-Resort-By-Amithya-Hotels-and-Resorts0 😊

Thank you for asking this interesting question.

Are you planning to implement any strategy to attract guests?

I’m tagging a few hosts who may be able to help you by sharing their experience: @Anoop16@Deena61@Tom4801@Anthony2515@Chione0 and @Thembelihle1.

Thank you in advance, everyone!

It can vary a lot, but I’ve seen first bookings come anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.

What made the biggest difference for me early on wasn’t just waiting—it was making sure the listing was strong from the start. Things like photo quality, the first 5 images, pricing, and how clearly the space is positioned all impact how quickly you get that first booking.

If you’re not seeing traction, I’d look there first rather than assuming it’s timing. Once those pieces are dialed in, bookings tend to come much faster.

Sorry your question I forgot. Speed of bookings depend mostly by the frequency of the visitors to the town where your property is located and particularly it's very location. Btw your nightly charge will also matter for Speedy response. You can periodically check what others Airbnb hosts are charging for similar accommodation in your nearby area and it will help you in fixing your charge.

Thanks

Hola 👋🏼

Hello @Tanada-Resort-By-Amithya-Hotels-and-Resorts0 👋🏼

I'll share my real experience as a new host:

I listed my property on January 20th and had my first booking in less than 48 hours .

Since then, the schedule has remained quite active.

What I did from the beginning:

  • High-quality photos (full key)
  • Attractive price to get started
  • Clear and well-structured description
  • Quick response to messages
  • Optimized ad settings

💡In my experience, if you lay those foundations well, Airbnb does give you a boost at the beginning.

It's not so much how long bookings take...
it's how well you launch your property from day one .

Hi Tanada - Congrats on launching your Airbnb! From my experience it took about 24 hours from launching my listing on Airbnb to it actually going live. From there it took a 2-3 to get my first booking. I have heard 1 week is totally normal, and it also depends on the season (high/low etc). What I noticed though is that Airbnb really promotes new listings so you will a good amount of traffic that first week. It starts to normalize after that. Hope it helps. Nisha

From our experience with Studio 205, those first few bookings really come down to setting the right foundation from day one. We intentionally launched at a slightly lower price point than surrounding Airbnbs to stay competitive and drive initial interest, while still positioning the space as high value. At the same time, we invested in professional photos and made sure our listing description was super detailed so guests knew exactly what to expect.

That combination helped us build traction pretty quickly—once those first few bookings and reviews came in, it became much easier to adjust pricing and maintain momentum.

Hi,

The first few booking came very organically and naturally for us, we had

Good quality pictures,

Very clean house,

Lower price in the beginning

Good communiction

A complementary bottle of wine and a fruit bowl (it really works)

And for sure honesty and good manners.

When they leave a good review, the others will be attracted naturally.
Do your best on your side, the guests will come.  Worry not.

Cheers

Ray

@Tanada-Resort-By-Amithya-Hotels-and-Resorts0  As others have chimed in, the importance of professional photos cannot be understated.  The money spent on a professional photographer will always pay off.  It's the first thing a guest sees during the scroll, pro photos stop the scroll.
