Unfortunately, a server error prevented your request from being completed. Airbnb may be undergoing

I have been trying to making a booking since yesterday. I started seeing this error "Unfortunately, a server error prevented your request from being completed. Airbnb may be undergoing maintenance or your connection may have timed out. Please try again."

 

Please help!

I ran into the same problem and it drove me crazy for a while. I finally solved the problem by turning off WI-FI on my phone, logging out of air bnb app and logging back in. the problem was that the WI-FI network was unsecured and the air bnb app would not authenticate the connection. By forcing my phone to use cellular data, it was able to make a secure connection and all the problems went away.

I called customer support (1-866-393-3393) and they directed me to add a government-issued ID (I did a driver's license). Apparently I hadn't done that yet, but once I added a driver's license I didn't get this error anymore.

I've been having the same issue for 5 days now - spoken to Airbnb and they claim its a hold from my bank... But I've tried 4 different payment method and 3 different Airbnb accounts (my own, my husbands and a friend who is traveling with us). Same error message pops up for everyone when trying to submit payment "We are performing a routine review on your reservation. This should be resolved soon".

 

Soon is not soon enough, and I've gotten zero help from Airbnb support aside from "contact your bank"

I have the same issue. Tried several credit cards and none of it seems to work. Tried from my phone (logged in and out of wifi), and from laptop on two different browsers. I cannot add another ID because I just stayed at an Airbnb last week and you cannot remove it until 90 days after your most recent reservation. I am trying to use gift cards to pay so maybe that's causing the issue?? I don't know what else to do.

same issue here. Tried wifi/cellar, laptop, app, none of these worked. Airbnb support is clueless.

I’m having the same issue.  Tried two devices, clearing cache, logging out, uninstalling app.  They’ve even had me call my bank who says they know this is an AirBnB problem and they get these calls often.  I need help please.  A7BC884B-8A06-4D7F-912E-BFF6A219F80B.jpeg

It is both comforting and disheartening that this error has been happening for years and Airbnb has seemingly done nothing to address it. Their customer service has taken sharp decline over the past several years. I'm currently sitting here trying to extend my booking and check out tomorrow morning and Airbnb has not been helpful. I reach out, they say they're working on it and will follow up and I hear nothing.

 

I have paged through multiple threads and tried everything under the sun. Adding an ID, three million payment methods, multiple devices, wifi on and off, different browsers, clearing cache, etc. Nothing works. If I am forced to leave earlier than expected this is a massive, massive inconvenience with having a pet as obviously I cannot sleep in my car during the winter.

 

What are you even doing Airbnb? This is a blatant technical issue on your end and all you do is shrug your shoulders.
