Guest arrival and Check-In
Hi Everyone!
Usually when the guests arrive at the listing, every Host has a different style and check-in system in place to greet guests and help them access the listing. Some Hosts prefer virtual check-in while some Hosts may like to meet their guests in person and guide them through the listing.
Based on your hosting style and guest requirements, the check-in window for guests can also widely vary. While few Hosts accommodate a flexible check-in time for the guests, some Hosts may find that a standard check-in time works well for their listing.
I'd like to invite our Hosts to share what's their hosting style when guests arrive to the listing.
What's your preferred method and approach for guests checking into your property? How long is your check-in window? Is there a particular sweet spot? Do you offer flexible check in to your guests? Do you change the check-in times depending on the seasons?
Looking forward to your insights and suggestions! 🌻
@Alex yes they do thank me and they also mention it in the reviews. I ran all our reviews through AI recently and it "spotlessly clean" and that l'm "extremely responsive" and "perfectly fantastic communication" from our current reviews.
Hi @Bhumika,
This is a hot topic.
We've only been hosting for a few months, but we live 2 hours away from our rental and meeting a guest isn't an option. We purchased a digital lock box that we assign codes to individual guests for the duration of their stay and it has been working well.
When I message the guest with the code prior to check in, I include photos and directions of where it is and how to operate it. I can also see and communicate with the guest remotely from my Ring doorbell/ cam if needed. I have a back up manual lock box for emergencies. Luckily, we haven't had to use it.
Best,
Jonathan
Hi @Jonathan2725 ,Providing photos and directions of the digital lock box is such a well thought strategy!
Hi @Bhumika ,
So far the response has been great. Really easy for our guests to operate. The system has done well and functioned as designed. It has turned out to be a good alternative to having the component on the actual door, which isn't available for the type of door we have. Fingers crossed!
Best,
Jonathan2725
That's great to hear, @Jonathan2725 ! I'm glad the system is working well for your guests 🎉 Technology does make things easier, doesn't it?
Since you live 2 hours away from the listing, has it ever happened that despite clear instructions , guests struggled to enter the listing? What did you do or would do in such situations if it happened?
Looking forward to hearing your experiences and ideas!
Regards,
