I have a finished basement in Ancaster and hamilton, do I need to get legal before hosting ?

@Mike-And-Jane0  Thank you for the message.  However, the rules and by laws are different to each municipality.  Some of the GTA allows short term rental without legal etc. So I am looking for a more clear and detailed answer from host in GTA.
