iCal Sync with Booking.com Not Updating Availability on Airbnb Calendar

Hey Airbnb hosts,

I’m having a tough time with my Airbnb calendar not syncing properly with Booking.com via iCal. Availability updates from Booking.com aren’t reflecting on Airbnb, causing double bookings.

Details:

  • Platform: Airbnb (host account, verified), synced with Booking.com via iCal.
  • Setup: Managing one property (apartment, entire place) on both platforms.
  • Issue Occurs: When a Booking.com reservation is made, Airbnb calendar doesn’t block those dates.
  • Environment: Using Airbnb web (Chrome, latest version), no mobile app issues noted.

Steps Tried:

  1. Re-exported iCal link from Booking.com and re-imported to Airbnb Calendar settings.
  2. Cleared browser cache and tested on Firefox—same issue.
  3. Checked Booking.com export settings; dates are correctly blocked there.
  4. Waited 24 hours for sync—still no update on Airbnb.
  5. Searched community; found a 2024 thread on iCal sync but no clear fix.

Expected: Airbnb calendar should block dates when Booking.com reservations are made.
Actual: Airbnb calendar stays open, leading to conflicting bookings.

Check for Errors in the Link

  • iCal links can break if:
    • You changed the listing settings.
    • You copied only part of the iCal URL.
  • Re-copy the entire iCal URL from other platform and re-import it to Airbnb.
  • Similarly, double-check that Airbnb’s export link is correctly pasted into other platform.

If all else fails

  • Delete the iCal link in Airbnb and re-add it fresh.
  • Clear browser/app cache or try using desktop if using mobile.

Thanks for the detailed suggestions! I re-copied the full iCal URL from Booking.com and re-imported it into Airbnb, ensuring no settings were changed. I also verified Airbnb’s export link in Booking.com—both are correct. I cleared my browser cache (Chrome) and tried on desktop, but the issue persists: Booking.com reservations still don’t block Airbnb dates. I deleted and re-added the iCal link in Airbnb, but no luck. Airbnb’s help page on iCal syncing (https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/99) mentions possible delays, but it’s been 48 hours.

Could this be a Booking.com export glitch or another Airbnb setting? Any other debug tips? Appreciate your help!  (**)
