Airbnb's lack of community support

Airbnb's lack of community support

When I reported drug dealers abusing my property, instead of thanking me for helping keep the hosting community safe, Airbnb community support delisted and deleted all verbiage and details of my property for me to recreate from scratch.

WTF

I think I will keep it delisted and remove my other property as well.  I refuse to be treated disrespectfully or unprofessional and support should remember the ONLY reason they are there is because Airbnb #1 asset are the listings it has to rent.  And when those assets come to you with an issue, you don't SHOOT the messenger, you say thank you and how can we help.

From Airbnb Support:

We would just like to clarify two more pieces of information:

1) Are you able to provide the pictures that you have taken of the other items and paraphernalia that you found in the property after the Guest had left?

2) Were you also able to obtain the police report for this incident? If so, can you please send it here through your email reply?

It has also come to our attention, that we understand that this listing, "Iceland Pad / Near DT Lakeville️Unique Artsy Vibe!" has a Surveillance device listed in the House Rules. However, please note that this device's location and recording status was not appropriately disclosed in the House Rules.

I understand that it is currently deactivated, however, please note that it cannot be relisted unless these two actions are taken.

If you would like to relist this property in the future, we would like to request that you:

1) Reply directly to this message with a written statement that you have reviewed the Security section of the Airbnb Community Standards. You can read those standards at:

2) Disclose the surveillance device's specific location and the recording status (whether it will be on or off during reservations) on the House Rules.

If you have any further questions or queries, please do let me know by replying to this email. Once again, thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.

Best,

Logan

The 'surveillance device" is a RING doorbell camera which is clearly visible outside the front door and was listed in the properties description.

Hi @Harry321   I saw  a listing with great reviews except one so that must be your other listing you reference.  Love the pictures that reflect your styling!  I gather the other listing also had a problem with drug use and the is what prompted your call to Air BNB.  Is that generally a problem in your area?  What were you seeking from Air BNB?  Cancellation?  Claim?

If you do remain with Air BNB, based on the lisitng I could see, I would add the survelliance information in a couple of places.  Guest access and what a guest must know are good places to disclose.  Some hosts have reported this obvious disclosure was also a deterrant to guests who want to book in order to break the rules.

Just a thought.

@Harry321  Are you referring to the guest B----e from January, whom you gave a very positive review?
