Airbnb slow support for hosts impacted by cancellations

We have been Airbnb hosts for just over a year when the Covid crisis hit .  We are Superhosts and were told by Airbnb that we qualified for support for host impacted by cancellations during the Covid period.  So far we have received nothing for May as was promised by Airbnb and no explanation on the helpline when we can expect this badly needed financial support.  Any suggestions or advice gratefully received. Thanks, Joan

@Joan2168 The Supehost fund has now closed so I guess you were not one of the lucky ones chosen. With respect to the 25% payments these are 25% of what you would have received per your cancellation policy. As such unless you had a strict policy you will likely get nothing.

If you go to the reservations page and look at cancelled reservations you should see if any qualify for support.

Thanks Mike for your response.  We had and have a strict policy and Airbnb said we qualified for support for our May cancellations but have sent nothing and now are not able to say when we can expect this support.

We feel really let down by Airbnb.

@Joan2168 If you type 'Superhost  relief fund', or 'support' or other relevant words into the search feature, top right, you will see umpteen questions like yours + discussion/responses, which have dominated this forum for the last 3 months!

The Superhost fund was a publicity stunt, a GIFT to a tiny minority, a chosen few, it was never an entitlement for all. I've heard there are 700,000 listings on Airbnb, the report issued today says 8,700 have received a payout so far with the rest who've been chosen in the pipeline, being processed.

Re the 25% payments:

If your  cancellation policy was 'strict' you get 25% of 50% = 12.5%

If your policy was 'moderate' & cancellation was more than 5 days before the stay, you get 25% of nothing = nothing.

If your policy was 'flexible'  & cancellation was more than 24hrs beforehand you get 25% of nothing = nothing.

@Joan2168, check your cancelled reservations.  Under the reservations for which you are trying to get relief, what does it say under the “COVID-19 support payment” column?
