I am a host and I manage a number of properties in a town that has a very significant high season. I would like to be able to set different cancellation policies for different times of the year. for the off season I would like to be flexible and during the school holidays I would like to set it to Strict. It seems like such a simple functionality. Even if it was part of or could be added to a "rule Set". But alas, its not there. I have looked for this option but have not been able to find it anywhere. Is there anyone that can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.
No you need to have one cancellation policy for your listing @Danny174
have you looked at other platforms to see if they offer the flexibility you are looking for?
So here is a question then. If I set the cancellation policy to moderate, and the guest books as a moderate policy, and then I change it to a strict policy, does it affect that booking and turn it into a strict policy.
Well I am hoping Airbnb will read this thread and maybe have that form part of the Rule Set. That would make the most sense. They do seem to becoming more and more customisable as the years go by.
With Covid and potential lockdowns looming, people are reluctant to make a booking with a strict policy in the event they have to cancel or don't feel comfortable too travel.
@Danny174 the cancellation policy at the time of booking is the valid one.
The only way around the issue is to have two listings for the same property, each with a different cancellation policy according to season.
