Foolishly I followed airbnbs advice and made my cancellation policy flexible, now they refude to compensate me for following their advice. I have also been a superhost for years but have recieved no email even though it is my primary source of income.
Thanks guys x
@Gary50 No one has received any emails re the Superhost grant. Everyone is waiting.
No. It wasn’t expressed. The little speech was Grandstanding st it’s finest!
AIRBNB'S COVID policy is ridiculous. I have over 9 reservations that you would've thought would normally be qualified for some sort of support or reimbursement due to cancellation because of COVID under their promise of support, but because I offer a flexible cancellation plan, I am not getting compensated for ANY of them. So they are rewarding everyone with strict cancellation policies by giving them 25% of the cancellation fees, while those of us who are trying to be helpful and flexible get nothing????? That is really crappy. And I've been a superhost for 3 years, with hundreds of bookings a year. I have not heard word one about their "special invite" for superhost support. So much for being a great partner Airbnb. You might as well have promised nothing, since that appears to be what you are delivering.
well said!
I had a strict policy when I first started and they would pester me with "suggestions" and "tips" to get more bookings. I shouldn't have listened.
Totally. I wrote Airbnb about this and got a note back saying, basically, I should be grateful for all the bookings I’ve had because of having the flexible policy!!! So we should be HAPPY about this!!! Ridiculous.
I have a strict cancellation policy and it is my main source of income, these months all canceled, I meet all the requirements but I have not yet received any request for help from airbnb. I'm still waiting. From Barcelona. Spain.
Hi!
We got a mail from Airbnb that our cancelled bookings will be compensated at the end of April. Somehow this mail disappeared (I think they called it back, as I never delete messages) and there was no compensation coming. I cannot contact anyone from Airbnb, who would support us in this, there is no form to fill in to request a compensation and in my account there is no compensation listed as pending.
What shall we do? Any idea?
Thanks
All I’ve gotten is $33 on one reservation. SO glad I switched to A flexible policy. Thanks, @Airbnb that was a very smooth piece of advice. We have t w o Bookings for June/July. That. Is. It. No idea what we are going to do.
@Kyan16 Directing people to your personal website is against the rules of this forum.
For all those disappointed they have a flexible policy: I kept my strict one, got fewer bookings because of it of course. I thought I was going to be paid out 50% according to my policy. But no
It is 25% of the 50% - costs which is about 10%. But I still have not been paid that either. It is now 11 June and have not seen any money yet + they did not pay me for one booking either. I called twice, they agreed I should have been paid out. but nothing yet. Anyone else with a strict policy that also did not get paid anything yet ?
