Guest damages then offers reimbursement in "payment plan"

Hello ABB Community!

Sadly for the 3rd time in 2 years of hosting, a guest(s) caused extensive damage to my home.  On this occasion, there was either a party or physical altercation inside based on the wall damage, broken glass and general condition of the place.  i submitted a very detailed request for reimbursement to the guest using the resolution center.

The guest texted me asking if she could make payments.  I realize that the person likely does not have the $ to pay in full, my concern and question is: Does Airbnb have a method of accepting payments over a period of time for reimbursement?  I am not sure how to manage the "sort of" offer to pay me back for the damages.

I also do not have confidence in this person at all.  The damages to my home were not mentioned when they left and actually the guest sent me a text saying how nice their stay was and commenting on how clean my home was.  My cleaning person arrived 45 minutes later and was in a panic over the condition of the home.

Any advice on this situation? Can I reject an offer to pay payments?  If the guest doesn't pay, how successful will I be in recouping my cost from AIrBnB?

Thanks,

Toni

@Toni257

If the guest offers to pay (although in installments), then at least they admit being responsible for the damage. But such a "payment" plan does not excists in the resolution centre, so it must be separate payments (within the time limit for resolutions). Which payments most likely will not be made and nobody will/can force them to do so.

So maybe Airbnb could charge on the security deposit (if one is set) ?
